Callisto 1,877 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 (edited) Listen... To my story... There's not much time... Before... They... Find me... It started normally enough. A book entitled "The 9th Order: The Truths of The World" was released, to much acclaim from philispohers and people in similar fields of study. Me, being a 13 year old, and, in fact, not a philosopher, didn't really care. But one morning, I found a copy of the bright red book on my bed when I woke up. Not only that, but everything in my room besides my bed (obviously) and my record player was gone. I got up and tried to find to someone to talk to about this, but no one was home, not even our dogs. But that was far from the oddest thing there. Most of the furniture in the living room was gone, the TV and the couch being the only things remaining. There was another copy of the book on the couch. Natrually, I was far beyond freaked out. Tears started rolling down my face as the possible scenarios went from bad to worse. I ran into my parents' room, and found the TV was the only thing remaining. Another copy of that dang book was on the ground. It taunted me, with it's large, bold text. "THE NINTH ORDER: THE TRUTHS OF LIFE" I picked up the book, and went into the living room. I looked on the back cover. "Everything resets... _________Everything resests... ___Everything resets..." Justifiably horrified, I stared at the strange words for a while, before thinking about what they could. My first thought was that nine was a significant number because everything "resets" after it. Perharps that's what the book's saying, I thought... I looked at the authour's name. It simply read "J.W.L." Why would an author credit themselves using only their initials? Regardless, I flipped the book open. "Number Nine... rebmuN eniN 9" That was what greeted on me on the first page. I looked at the next page, which was the dedication page. It read: From Me To P.M., Y.O., R.S., G.H., J.L., S.L., G.M. and B.E. . And From Me To You -The Walrus, J.W.L. I skimmed through the book. From what I could tell, it was avdocating the idea of everything "resetting" after the year 2099. It seemed like a ridiculous claim to me. I put aside the book, and wondered what I was to do now. So, I called my mom. No response. My dad. No response. My brother. No response. I was fearing the worst at this point. I looked out the window, and saw no one, but two tall, suited men in dark shades putting up wooden signs. "9" was encarved on them all. They must have put up at least 100 before leaving. The men followed another man, this time wearing a cliché long, black, coat. His face was covered by a hood so that all I could see were his round glasses and bits of his gray hair. Natrually, I assumed he was an older fellow. They got in a long, dark car with tinted windows. Suddenly, I heard a buzzing sound comimg from my room. I rushed there, and found the sound was coming from my record player. The buzzing stopped, and was replaced by a slow piano melody. A female choir began singing things like "oooohhh" and "ahhhhh". Then, a lone woman began singing. "Don't be shyyyy... Join us... Join..." Dissonant, techno-y sounds began to play, and the voice returned. "Nine nine nine nine nine nine nine nine nine nine" I threw the record player on the ground, grabbed my brother's pellet gun, put in some pellets, and shot it. I knew it wouldn't do much, but I shot. And shot. And shot. Finally, the record player shut the hell up. I wasn't really scared any more; I was just angry. And I desperatley wanted to know what was going on. I went into the living room, gun in hand. The TV started flashing multiple colors, and the same song from the record player incident came on. Suddenly, the coated figure from eailer appeared on the screen, with three suited figures behind then, although I don't think they were the same ones from earlier. "If you are recieving this pre-recorded message" He said "Then the 9th order has come. Do not be afraid. It's for the best. Everything will be reset. Imagine it...it's just like starting over, beautiful boy. Or perhaps you are a woman. I don't know. But I do know the word is good...and the word I'm thinking of is nine...nine...nine..." I quicky realized the message was looping. So, I did what any logical person would. I shot the TV. Afterwords, I went outside, hoping to find some answers... End part 1 So, to the two people who read all this: Should I continue this? Should I restart from scratch? I need some feedback. I probably should have posted this in Octavia's Hall. Oh well.
