tdtuesday1 11 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 (edited) And I don't know what to do with it. I mean, I can't draw, I don't write fan fiction, but I really like the idea of this. I don't even have a name for this guy. So basically, he is a fighter. He was rejected from joining the Royal Guard due to his lack of following orders and his "independent" nature. He hides his cutie mark at all times, and nopony knows what it really is. I wanted to make him a friendly enemy, like a vigilante that stops evil, but isn't really on anypony's side. Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/JlNg7 Alright everypony, there you go. My first legitimate OC. Now go nuts with it. Point out all the flaws, suggest things, whatever. I want to make this into something good. I'm not really asking for anything, just some advice or help on it. If you want to make something using it, go ahead. EDIT: IGNORE THE HORN IN SOME OF THE PICTURES! I forgot to take it off, he's only a pegasus. Ampharos 1,009 June 9, 2013 Share June 9, 2013 You could make a page in the character database and use him for roleplays if you want. His name could be Hawk or something I'm not really good with names. 1 RWBY DISCUSSION THREAD
Spring Storm 276 June 9, 2013 Share June 9, 2013 (edited) He looks pretty cool! My OC is a pegasus too :3 You can see her to the left, because I have her as my picture. Her name is Spring Storm ^-^ My advice is to replace the artificial-looking wings, and put the normal ones there instead. The artificial wings haven't been seen in the show to my knowledge, and while they are cool, they are overused on OC's in my opinion. Making your OC look more like something that wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in the show is the key to making your OC look better I would possibly also give him a brighter hair color, maybe just brown instead of gray and black, since darker colors like that aren't seen on the show much. As far as a name goes... What are some of his most striking design elements? Things like colors, such as yellow or brown for yours, can make up part of a name (for example, Pinkie Pie). Or if his design is based on something, like sand, that can also work. What do you see your OC doing in Equestria? Is he a weather pony? Is he a royal guard? Thinking of what his job would be can help greatly in coming up with a name. For example, Spring Storm is named because of her Spring-esque design, and she's a weather pony that specializes in storms. Yeah, I'm probably going to change some of his features, like the wings, soon. The hair color could go as well. I talked to one of my other brony friends (not on the forums)about the name, and he suggested something along the lines of Miles Neutra, which is latin for "Neutral Soldier". I wanted to do this because I want to make him like a anti-hero, but vigilante, somepony that stops evil but isn't on anypony's side. Only problem is, the name doesn't sound pony. It's....out of place. Another key feature is his cutie mark, which he hides at all times under a cape and suit, that you can see in the pictures. Nopony but him knows what it is.That what I want his key role in, say, a fan fiction or a roleplay to be. I will edit the post with more pictures when I fix the pony.
Spring Storm 276 June 9, 2013 Share June 9, 2013 Hmm... That is difficult to put a pony name to, especially since ponies usually don't get involved in something as dark as vigilantism. It could still work well for your character, it just doesn't give me any examples to follow from pre-existing ponies. Maybe I'll come up with ideas eventually, though. 1 Together since October 19th, 2011

I wanted to just name him "Miles" (pronounced MEE-LEZ) and then a pony-like last name, but that seems a little odd now. Also, I fixed the pictures in an edit above. Spring Storm 276 June 9, 2013 Share June 9, 2013 I like his looks better that way Now he seems like he could stand among a crowd of ponies and wouldn't look out-of-place. And I agree, Miles seems like an odd name. Then again, we do have a pony just named Cadence, which is a typical girls' name. So Miles is the slightest bit out there, but not overly much. 1 Together since October 19th, 2011

I know I'll think of something, just not very soon. Maybe I'll post my character on the RP database, see if they can fix up a story of something for him.
