Commander_PonyShep 349 June 15, 2013 Share June 15, 2013 I just want to dismiss Equestria Girls as non-canon from the show, just because it has a high risk of failure. However, in doing so, I would also dismiss the vastly superior comics and novel, Crystal Heart Spell. And guys, I love the comics and CHS, especially for their quality writing. That isn't to say I won't like EqG on the grounds of turning ponies into humans. No, it is because of the way Twilight deliberately substituted her friends for their humanized konck-offs, even though they (the ponies, not the humans) were still resourceful to her in CHS. It is almost like in the second comic story-arc, where Rarity feared being replaced by her friends with somepony else. So really, if I dismiss EqG as non-canon, should that mean I do the same with the comics and the ever-superior Crystal Heart Spell?

Equestria Girls is supposed to be a Spin- Off, in a sense it's supposed to be non-canon. Whether the comics and books are is another story(apparently, the comics take place between 2&3) So take it from me: Equestria Girls = Non-canon Comics = Canon Books = Flip a coin

Whether the comics and books are is another story(apparently, the comics take place between 2&3) So take it from me: Equestria Girls = Non-canon Comics = Canon Books = Flip a coin With regard to books like CHS, I would rather consider them canon. Unfortunately, most people are always saying it is non-canon, just because it had some continuity errors. But for me, I'd still consider CHS canon, not because of its canon-consistency (or lack thereof), but rather because on its own, it was a good story that showed Twilight as neither all-powerful nor immortal, but still reliant on her friends (the ponies, not the human knock-offs).
