Fluttershy and Rainbow rough draft.

Kind of a rough draft, but just something that I'm working on.

 

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash high 'wing'

 

Any constructive advice welcome.

It's adorable! 

 

Just a few points though: 

 

-> RD's tail seems a little bit too messy. I'd recommend making the streaks a little bit more uniform and streamlined.

(this recommendation conforms to RD's original design. If the tail thing is something of your own style, then you should keep it. Additionally, if you would like to follow the original design more closely, you could limit the pointy ends on RD's head to about four, and five to six in her tail.) 

 

Reference for 'pointy ends' of RD's mane (head part) and tail: 

 

 

 

 

-> I understand that the wings are supposed to be of different sizes because of stretching and viewing angles. I don't really know, but there seems to be something about the un-stretched wings that's a bit off. This property should probably become invalid when you color this and apply shadows and other lighting elements. (That is, only if you're planning on coloring it.)

 

-> Fluttershy seems to be a bit lacking in terms of her cutie mark. This is probably going to be difficult to amend because her mane is covering part of her flank. I suggest that you make a draft of how it would look like (on a different paper). If it becomes too messy/hard to do, then you should probably leave it as it is. 

 

-> It also seems that Fluttershy's right wing (left in our perspective) is missing a feather (the wing that is 'high winging' RD has four feathers, while the other wing only has three.) The topmost feather of Fluttershy's left wing (right in our perspective) also seems a bit sharp when compared to the others.

Overall, it's really a nice concept! It just needs a few polish-ups here and there. :-bd

Thanks kriore, Will take that into consideration. yeah would like to color it eventually. I can see what you mean with Flutters left wing. I did have Rainbows forelock more like the cartoon, but kind of added a bit of Mikestar to it, and probably when it gets colored will want the hair to be more 'real' and shaded... I dunno. Will hafta see how it works. 

 

never know how things will turn out.
