Drum set and drum set samples

I guess I got a pretty simple question. But when you have to make your drums for your remixes what do you prefer.

A. Premade drum loops via prerecorded drum loops or midi loops

B. Making you drum set track from scratch by playing or programming it out in your daw.

C. Something I haven't thought off.

I like to do a mixture of loops and one shots.

I love "hollow" kicks, anything that isn't too weighty on the low end so I don't have to do much work trying to mix the kick and bass together.

I'll layer it over some chopped and EQ'd drum breaks, some are well known and others not so much.

Add a one shot snare hit that's sampled from a real snare drum underneath.

Everything else depends on the song. Maybe some digital cymbals or samples of various real ones. Just depends.

Finally I throw everything except for the kick through a tape effect which makes things feel more vintage, and throwing all of that with the kick through a simple glue compressor to keep things together, then EQ to taste.
