It seems that the more I watch the show, the more ideas I end up with. I've been steadily building what is becoming a massive expanded universe around FiM. Eventually I might disregard my lack of writing skills and start a more conventional story format, but for the time being, I thought I'd share my notes and ideas in the form of an epistolary.
 
This is basically my fanfic notes in the as a collection of files, letters and reports from the archives of Canterlot, compiled by one of my OCs. I'm just throwing my fanon at anyone who might be interested and hopefully, this will serve as a nice teaser for an eventual full-fledged series.
 

Concerning our disclosure protocols:
 
While transparency is valued by the equestrian princesses, the decision to classify certain sensitive material has proven necessary. In addition to orders from Princesses Celestia and Luna, some of the other powers operating in Equestria have expressed their wishes that the general public not be made aware of their activities and/or history. The classified material is to be stored in the archives of Canterlot, with relevant copies being kept in a secure wing of the Crystal Empire Library and the Vaults of the New Changeling Colony. 
Main disclosure protocols are as follows:

Unlimited access to secret files. Any request to view classified material by the following individuals is to be considered an order:
 
- Celestia, Princess of Equestria
- Luna, Princess of Equestria
- Mi Amore Cadenza, Princess of the Crystal Empire
- Shining Armor, Prince of the Crystal Empire
- Sparks, Chief Archivist of Canterlot
 
Limited disclosure:
Access to certain classified material is limited. The nature of the restricted material is unique to each individual and requests to view restricted material must be approved by Princesses Celestia and Luna.
 
- Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Equestria
(NOTE: This is a personnal request from Princess Celestia)
 
- Blueblood, Prince of Equestria
(NOTE: Prince Blueblood's access is nothing but a formality. His behavior demonstrates a disregard for sensitive matters, and efforts must be made to avoid any disclosure unless absolutely necessary.)
 
- Vespa, Queen of the New Changeling Colony
(NOTE: Queen Vespa and the equestrian princesses have agreed that the situation with the changelings is still under scrutiny, and that full disclosure should not be granted at this time.)
 
- Sparks, Magistrate of the Crescent Order
(NOTE: Sparks has been granted full access as part of his duties as Chief Archivist)
 
- Obsidian, Grand Praetorian of the Iron Guard
 
- Spitfire, Captain of the Wonderbolts

All other individuals are prohibited from accessing any classified information without the full knowledge and consent of Princesses Celestia and Luna.

 
That's all for now, a crapton of OCs and cryptic references. Hopefully I've awakened your curiosity. I'd love to hear comments or questions about the story I'm trying to build. I'll be posting more Canterlot files, and I'll see what I can come up with for the stories themselves.
