Celestia and Luna's Parents (Headcanon To Be Put In Tumblr Blog)

So, tell me how this sounds...

 

Now, my ask blog is basically about Discord and Fluttershy.  For over a month now, I've only been answering random questions.  But now, I'm going to begin with the storyline I had originally planned.  I'll put this into separate chapters, leaving space in between each to answer other random questions rather than questions that have to do with the storyline.

Chapter one is about Discord's relationship with Celestia when they were younger.  As Discord tells his story, my ponysona (originally a little gag) goes to visit Celestia, wanting to see what's up with all of that, wanting to hear her side of the story.

When Celestia tells her side, her parents are mentioned.

 

Her mother had ruled over the day, her father over the night just as Celestia and Luna do now.  They controlled the sun and the moon.  They did this for many years before they had Celestia, and then Luna later.

They knew that their children were destined to rule the same way they had, and decided to teach them how to do exactly that.

Once they both saw that Celestia and Luna could do this, they decided it was time for their time in these majestic alicorn bodies to end.  It was time for them to move on to the other world.

And thus, Celestia and Luna's parents became the day and the night itself, continuing to watch over their ponies for all of eternity.

 

Now, I suppose Celestia will one day contribute to the daytime, and become it along with her mother, as well as Luna the night.  Or maybe they'll become the sun and the moon.

When they do this, they are making room for another to take their place.  This may be Twilight.  Twilight could very well rule over both day and night.

 

Anyway, how does this sound?

Also, what should I name them?

It sounds epic, in a good way (a bit like big cakes).

Fulgencia means light, to shine, and give light, which fits quite well for a sun queen, maybe?
