shinra777 65 October 23, 2013 Share October 23, 2013 So yea...that's my question. Does anybody use a Stylus compatible tablet to draw mlp stuff? (Or anything else for that matter) If so, what type of tablet and stylus have you found that work well together? What art/drawing app do you use? Specifically an android app...but I'm curious if there are good iOS or wp8 apps.

Guest October 27, 2013 Share October 27, 2013 I can't say much about other makes of tablet but I wouldn't reccommend an iPad as it's not a stylus device, it's a finger device. It simply doesn't have the precice input method necessary to draw something. There are apps you can use like bamboo paper but again, it's only as accurate as your finger and when you draw your finger covers the line you're trying to make. I've had a go on a samsung galaxy note and it was a huge improvement, although the supplied application didn't use layers which are kinda necessary at higher skill levels. I'm sure there'd be a program for it but I didn't get to check. If looking for a tablet to draw on, make sure it's a stylus input device, has a high dpi input (higher the better), has compatible software with lots of features like photoshop and if possible, pressure/tilt sensitivity. This is starting to sound pricey come to think of it and, speaking as a pony artist, you'd be better off buying a bamboo tablet and using it with paint tool sai (free program) on your laptop or desktop. If you, like me, prefer to draw directly onto the surface the only thing I can recommend is a Wacom Cintiq, theyre pricey but the results are phenomenal. I have a Cintiq 22HD which was expensive >.< but Wacom recently released a 13HD model with a price less than half of that. Hope this essay was in the least bit helpful
