Standard User 2,127 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 @@Infrared, welcome to the site! I totally know what you mean about being swallowed up by the day-to-day activities of the site. The best way to combat that is to jump right in, be it Octavia's Hall for art, Roleplay World for...y'know, roleplaying, or a more laid back portion of the site to chat about whatever. You'll find some clique to fit in, so long as you stay active! Ironically, as I read the line that says you play Borderlands, "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" started playing on my iTunes. Coincidences, man. Do you own both games? Got a favorite class to play as? If you ever need a helping hand or have a quick question, feel free to hit up myself or pretty much any user -- we're a friendly bunch. Mostly. Y'know how it goes. Enjoy your time here! -Kolth oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo

Standard User 2,127 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 Sadly, I don't own BL1, though I have played it for many hours as the Hunter. BL2 definitely ups the ante with a better story. As you can see by my username and picture, that game has left something of an impression on me. oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo

Standard User 2,127 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 BL2 seems- no, is much more straight-forward and has a better story. I actually know pretty damn well what's going on in the game this time without having to read! It's also more than just "go here talk to this guy kill that guy" which is pretty sweet. Gotta love how improved the second game is (better story, easier to use maps, those sorts of things), it really is worthy of being called a sequel. I actually just wrote an English paper about Borderlands 2. Being one of the few papers not about a local coffee shop or college (we had to pick something to "review"), it was quickly scooped up by the nerds. It's a fun game, by far, but the humor is what really gets me. I'm torn between hoping for and dreading a third installment, as it could easily make or break the series. oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo

Standard User 2,127 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 What would they even do with a third game? I don't know how far you've played into the game, but they definitely set it up for a sequel. Where they actually go with it is anyone's guess. Seeing as how they improved on pretty much every complaint from the first game moving into the second game, I feel like a third game could have a decent shot at being even better, since Gearbox can apparently learn from their mistakes well enough. oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo

Standard User 2,127 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 Hm, you've got a point there. Seeing as I haven't even finished the second game yet, I probably shouldn't comment on where they'd go in terms of another sequel. But as far as mistakes and improvements go, while Gearbox is good at adressing those, is there actually enough that needs improving to warrant another game? Though I do suppose there could always be the polishing of good things or new elements added in a new installment. Who knows? While it is quite easy to screw up new games, it seems like Gearbox does a good job of what they do, so maybe as long as their creativity doesn't burn in a blazing hellfire or something, I'm sure a third game wouldn't be completely terrible even though it is risky territory. I mean, if it does happen, gotta hope for the best, right? Exactly! Geez, now I'm kinda hoping that we get a threequel. Is that what they're called? Thirdquel? Third installment? Whatever. 1 oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo
