Marble collecting is a waning hobby. One that's also kind of unusual to some, but I find them fascinating. Look how diverse they can be. As a kid I owned a few. No idea what happened to them. No sentimental value to them though, such as hand-me-downs, and they weren't old. I still wish I had had them. They were interesting to look at and relaxing to play with.

Now that I think about it, I used to collect marbles. I should have a good number of them packed away in a bin in the closet along with the fool's good, lava rocks, quartz, magnets, etc. I used to love collecting the stuff, you'd think I'd go into geology or something. Anyway, marbles, it wasn't until I had a bunch of them that I learned people played marbles; I don't even remember what I used to do with them exactly, except for using them as counters (something I still do every once in a while).

Clay marble? Interesting, but kind of plain. I'm more a fan of the, hmm... cat's eye marbles, not that I had a name for them back used them regularly.
