Looking for information

Good day everyone.

 

I'm preparing myself to write a Fanfic, however, I will need some information before I can do much.

First of all, what is the estimated age of the characters?, and while we are at that, was it established how calendars work in Equestria?

Where can i get information on secondary characters? I mean, characters like Lyra, Bonbon, Derpy, the Doc, etc.

What is the most accepted name of the genderbent characters?

I think that will do for now. If i need anything else I will post later (Or edit this post if it wasn't replied yet)

Well, first off, as a writer the world is your oyster -- literally and figuratively. The entirety of Equestria could exist on the back of a giant oyster. It is your call: you're the writer, so feel free to take creative liberties and bend the rules a bit with "your" Equestria.

 

If you are dead-set on finding answers, however, I would check out the MLP wiki. That should have enough discussions and pages about background characters to whet your appetite.

 

Estimated age has generally been accepted at around 17-22 years old. Calendars were never given a strict definition, as far as I know. Many events are based on moon cycles, however.

Two more questions:
Do we know about the time Starswirl the Bearded was alive?
According to the tale of the windigos and such, Celestia and luna were not on the foundation of equestria, or at least, they were not the ones who raised the sun and moon. Did i understood that part correctly?

Edit: Also, really, would like to know what are the most accepted names for the genderbent characters. Most likely they will not appear on the story, but might need them for reference.

Definitely FiMFiction. It can be difficult to get your name up off the ground there, but once you do it can be a whirlwind of views and readers.

According to that episode, yes, the three species of ponies founded Equestria. I don't think this conflicts with any other episode (otherwise we would've heard about it from some upset fans...)
