LED Dasher 228 January 22, 2014 Author Share January 22, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are liberals, but the conservatives are just as much guilty of spewing out insults in defense. People are kind of sickening. I wonder if they would cuss at each other in real life. Perhaps they are neither liberals nor conservatives, but rather neoconservatives. Neoconseratives believe in imposing foreign policy and promotion of America's interests through military force. In other words, they are imperialists who wish to impose their beliefs on others. They are against multiculturalism and equality. They are racists and bigots. It's been said before, but pretty much this: I tend to frequent The Drum for political analysis for the reasons you cited OP, but even there, there are many like the ones you described. My favourites though are the ones who barrack for specific parties or people as if they were football teams. It's hilarious to watch them take an apolitical subject and turn into a Liberal or Labour bashing session in some incomprehensible, contrived fashion. What's also funny is where people make extremely broad assumptions about a person's beliefs based on a single attitude and use those assumptions as a personal attack. For instance, let's say you don't support a specific action by a business: You must be a kitten kicking, baby blending Commie! Wait hold on, you do support them? Back to the boardroom with you, you heartless, money-scoffing nimwit neolib! It's frustrating that so much political discourse tends to play out in this fashion. Politics has become nothing but a circus where hopeless people have nothing better to do with their lives than to critisize and complain. Even if there is perceived anonymity, you question why people could be so stupid and engage in useless drivel when discussing social matters. If these type of people represent the majority then we have an idea why the world is in a horrible state. They are against multiculturalism and equality. They are racists and bigots.Quite possibly. It honestly doesn't matter who they are. They are hateful and treat other people like garbage. Calling somebody stupid holds no argument, and they better learn that fast. Nobody likes a person who plugs their ears and tells somebody with a different point of view to "shut up". They are for certain, power hungry. I think politics hypnotize people. If there were no parties, America would be much better off, along with other countries. So many people just vote for somebody because they are in the same party, and I find that kind of messed up. My political views are more right leaning, but I do agree with many liberal point of views. I am pacifistic in most cases (liberal), but I am also against abortion (conservative), but if somebody is for it, I won't go bashing them for it. I calmly state why I am for or against something without shouting "No! You're wrong!!!!" That's the issue with many people. Lacking the ability to debate in a formal mannor. far-left and far-right (neolibs and neoconservatives) people are so close-minded about talking about controversial topics that they don't take other people's ideas into consideration. Even though I am pacifistic, I realize some wars are impossible to prevent. I also realize abortion may be necessary to save a mom's life. Edited January 22, 2014 by Judgement 1 Tom V.S.
