Hey all. I was thinking about telling my parents I am a big fan of MLP. I was wondering how I should do it, what would be a good way, or should I just not tell them at all?

I just told them, my parents just said "ok" and walked off and everyone knows I'm a brony. But if you don't think they'll accept it then do something creative. Like make a story and have them read it. That way they can be happy for you when they see what you created and they might treat you better about it.

hey it wasn't easy telling my dad, he didn't know what to say at first, but now he supports me and its all good =D don't be afraid bro, a good way would be to just catch them at a good time, sit them down, and tell them. It may not be easy but you'll probably feel better when you do it

I always think it's best to be honest and open. You know your parents best, but I don't know why they'd be upset. It's no different from being a Trekkie, or liking a particular musician.

 

Some people still have the mindset that MLP is a dumb show for little kids, or that any adult who watches it is a pervert. This obviously is not true, so I say tell 'em, and if they don't get it, offer to play a couple of episodes for them.

I heard that one person just flat out told her mother that she was a Brony, and then they watched the documentary together. I heard it helps.
