“Are you entirely sure about this? We’ve been planning for months in advance, and now you say we should change it.”

 

“Yes, I am sure.”

 

“No, I think we should go with-” it is interrupted.

 

“Shut it, Cruelty. We don’t want your opinion.” it glares at the other one.

 

“Awwww…” it droops its head.

 

“It is my belief that the new hosts will be perfect. The old ones were simply too weak. We had to destroy them.”

 

It sighs. “Very well. Let us grant these new hosts our gift. All in favor?”

 

All of them agreed. However, one spoke up.

 

“You know, if these hosts die, we’ll be out of options. This is our third try…”

 

“Yes, we know.” it replied calmly. “However, it is our duty to try.”

 

“And kill things!” one chimed in.

 

“Here, here!” another said “We should rip off the arms of our enemies!”

 

It sighed. “Sure, whatever. We shall now go and meet our hosts. Everyone, take your places…”

 

“What was our form again?”

 

“Chains. We are the chains of reality.”

I think you mean prologue (before the story) not epilogue (after the story).
