What if the US military faced off against the SoD from the Suikoden series

This is assuming that it was a war scenario, and each SoD had access to their units. I think the US military would win, although it would be pretty close, because the SoD have so many mages, like Jeanne, Viki, Zerase, Leknaat (although I don't see her having a fighting role, she's mostly to provide information, and maybe to revive SoD if needed), they have dragon cavalrys, ninjas, etc, and they also have a lot of sharpshooters, so it's not like it would be mostly guns vs swords/bows. I could see their swordsmen being useless in this, since swords get owned by guns, so SoD who rely on swords like Georg, Flik, Tengaar, etc wouldn't be of much use. They could pick up some offensive magic from runes, but their units would still be classified as melee units.

 

Also, keep in mind that there are the true runes, which could be a major game changer, while of course, the US military has nuclear weapons. Then again, only Falenian royalty is able to wield the sun rune. Although there is the souleater rune, punishment rune, and other runes.
