I don't have as much free time now as I did over the past several months, but I'm happy to help out in the area of writing lyrics and vocal melodies/harmonies, as well as recording them. These two songs were instrumentals initially, and we added vocals. Metal: in this one I wrote the vocals and lyrics, and performed for the recording. It's basically the story of the unrest that led up to Nightmare Moon's betrayal, as told from Celestia's perspective. In writing the lyrics, I took inspiration from speeches made by Winston Churchill, and those found in Lord of the Rings and the book of Isaiah. LYRICS: Sorrow fills this edict with regret for those who will fall So let it be written So let it be done This calculated insubordination will be crushed To run away would be remiss Our words betray, singe and fester between The sunset scries blood, bile and tears There can be only one Sister, Captain and Queen We will rise into Heaven We will exalt our throne above the stars We will sit upon the Mount of Harmony We will ascend above the clouds We will take ourselves We will break ourselves We will make ourselves unto the Sun To run away would be remiss Our words betray, singe and fester between The sunset scries blood, bile and tears There can be only one Sister, Captain and Queen (between the bridge and the solo there is a segment of competing "radio propaganda" speeches; I didn't include them here since they're not technically lyrics) Electronic: in this one I wrote the melodic vocal chorus, @@Gaz wrote the lyrics, and she performed the vocals for recording. This project was part of a Michael Morones benefit. In writing the lyrics, Gaz and I tried to convey the kind of fear and uncertainty that seems to have led him to make the decision he did, as well as reflecting the state that he's in now.
