SapphireSonicPony 36 April 28, 2014 Share April 28, 2014 I'm someone who's played a LOT of mmorpg's in my time and I mean a LOT, like #NoLife ... anyway that's besides the point, I've mostly played wow for the past 4 years, and well recently I'm getting quite bored, and Yes I am a blizzard fan boy but the wait for draenor is killing me. Now I'd seen a lot of big hype about GW2 Back when it came out but i'd never given it a second glance because at the time and up until now I'd been in the stage of stubbornly refusing to play any other game than my precious wow. Now, I'm thinking of buying it and getting into it to tide me over until draenor and satisfy my hunger for mmorpgs... help... me... its an obsession...lol back to the point. Is it still alive? Is it a fun game? would it be worth getting into? and before any smartass pony says it.. yes yes... I know theres plenty of reviews and other places to get these questions answered. BUT take this as a compliment ponyfolk... I trust your opinions more than anypony else's and I'll probably get honest answers here not "ha noob! trololol" so quick replies anypony? - For The Horde! firetorn 187 April 28, 2014 Share April 28, 2014 It is definitely still active. Is it a fun game? well, depends what you find fun. It's a great game to play in a large group, as that's how it was designed to be played. It is a somewhat non-conventional MMO in that it is more achievement/completion based. I REALLY liked the main story quest line, very epic and fun. Also the world bosses (massive bosses that spawn 3 times a day and you get to fight in a massive group) are really fun. The World vs. World is also very fun if you party up and have skype. You get to lay siege to fortresses and do battle with armies from other servers. Also, World vs. World puts everyone at level 80, so except for gear, its quite a level playing field. As far as dungeons go, I found them quite fun, but lacking in rewards after you hit level 80. Which brings me to my only real complaint with the game - its blatant lack of purpose and endgame after you finish levelling. I mean you can get your endgame gear, but the amount of time is takes is much larger than the stat increases the gear. So I would certainly recommend it as i enjoyed it and i think it is just what you need to tide you over until WoD, but don't expect a WoW quality endgame. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

By all rights I should probably be somewhere in plat but it's always an uphill struggle with all the feeders/afkers.
