Red's "Release the Panic"

There are a couple of bands who decide to explore the heavier side of Christian music. One has become a favorite of mine. This band is Red. Red released their fourth album, “Release the Panic,” on Feb. 5, 2013. Red’s style is simple: They have mostly heavy, headbang-worthy tracks, mixed in with a couple of slower, more mellow songs. That doesn’t change on “Release the Panic.” The title track, “Release the Panic,” and “The Moment We Come Alive” are prime examples of these opposites. “Release th

Waste of Life

This time around, I'm reviewing a certain artist, rather than an album. The artist is Waste of Life, a DSBM (depressive/suicidal black metal) artist. Typically, people tend to think that this music is made for people who want to kill themselves. However, that is not the case. This type of music is actually quite calming, as indicated by Waste of Life's song "Exposing the Torment Within My Veins." Waste of Life is just one man, Darrick Hazelwood, a 22-year old man from Carpentersville, Illinois.

Chelsea Grin's "Evolve E.P."

Chelsea Grin have been in the deathcore scene for years, and have built quite the fanbase. Fans were always praising Alex's screams and growls. The breakdowns were sick. The instrumentals were amazing. When they released "My Damnation" with Alex's changed vocal style, the fans grumbled. With their newest E.P., "Evolve," fans are grumbling even more due to the addition of Alex doing clean vocals. In my opinion, their new sound is better than their old sound. Don't get me wrong, I liked the breakd

Infant Annihilator's "The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution"

Infant Annihilator. Just the very name screams offensive. But, read the titles of their tracks, and you'll be even more offended. That is, if you didn't know that this band is a conspiracy band, and all the tracks tell the fictional story of a priest of the Catholic church participating in acts such as rape, murder, forced sterilization, etc. Enough about that. Time to talk about the music itself. Infant Annihilator are death core (big surprise, huh?). But, they're one of the few GOOD dea

The album was produced by Matt McClellan and recorded at Glow in the Dark Studios. The lead single, "Je Suis Fini," was released May 14, 2012, along with an accompying music video. To Speak of Wolves bring a unique sound to the metalcore scene, and are going strong. They are an amazing band, and I urge anyone who'

Make Them Suffer's "Neverbloom"

Make Them Suffer are a deathcore band from Australia. They have awesome screams and growls, and even have piano incorporated into their music, which lends it a creepy feel. Their debut album, "Neverbloom," was released on May 25, 2012, through Roadrunner Records. In my opinion, Make Them Suffer's track "Neverbloom" is the best on the album. If you like deathcore music, then I advise you to check this band out. You will NOT be disappointed.
