Teen Titans

Titan Rising

So this is just gonna be a blog of me writing about music that matters to me and why. Maybe I'll update it daily or just do it every once in a while I'm not really sure. But I wanted to write something about this:

I've had it stuck in my head over the past couple days. I couldn't even sleep last night because it was stuck in my head playing over and over lol.

Teen Titans may be my favorite childhood cartoon, if you could call it that, me being around 12 or 13 when it came out. My friends and I used to watch it every week without fail, and I'd watch it every chance I could in between Saturdays. Something about kid heroes really resonates with me I suppose, maybe it's that they have so much hidden potential and I think of myself the same way, full of hidden potential that I could bring forth if only I try hard enough.

But moving on, this song is of a time when Terra and Beast Boy were having fun at a carnival. Some of her final truly happy moments before her plans with Slade were unveiled. There's something that resonates with me when I hear this melody, it sounds happy but it also sounds like some sort of great tragedy will soon fall. Maybe it's just because I already know what happened afterwards.

The music manages to make me angry. It was because Beast Boy wasn't able to forgive Terra she was lost to Slade until it was too late. For whatever reason I dwell on this moment even after so many years later. There is something also about someone falling into despair and self destruction because they have lost someone else's respect or can't find forgiveness that truly angers me.

The cheerfulness of the music reminds me of Terra being happy, and it makes me wish things turned out different. Out of any moment from any story, I wish this had turned out differently more than anything else.

So those are some thoughts an old piece of music makes me think about, for anyone who cared to read.

Teen Titans was one of my favorite shows too xD

Terra seemed like a character with good potential, I wanted to see more of her, although it seemed like if she had stayed, it'd affect the show much more than expected, with having a new teen titan and all.

But by the end of the series they had like 100+ new titans lol.

But I guess it would have affected the show much more than expected though.... FOR THE BETTER!

Teen Titans is the shit. Used to watch that everyday when it was on Toonami and then Miguzi. So much astonishing character direction.

Yeah, I liked how they had Beast Boy have an emotional side rather than just being a schmuck/smartass/clown all the time. It shows you that he really does care for people who reason with him. His relationship with Terra was arguably his finest moments of the show. I just loved how Terra betrayed him and the Titans for Slade just because it adds even more emotion to them.

I don't like how Terra, when she was fossilized from their last battle where she turned good for like the last few minutes, was all of a sudden gone a couple of episodes later. I think it would have been more stronger writing if they had just left her there as a statue. When she appeared in the series finale, I thought that really wasn't needed.

That annoyed me so much how they brought her back but she had no memories and there was no actual explanation how she got back

And then it was over

It would have been so much more awesome if in the last moments of the last episode they had her enter beast boys room with the camera looking towards beast boy so you couldn't actually see her, but it showed her shadow on the ground and beast boys eyes lit up. Or something like that. Anything other than she just mysteriously comes back with no memories so they can't be friends anymore

fjbgslfjgbs;dfgbjd;f annoys me so much to think about it...
