This is the kind of boost I got just going from a single 4GB chip, to two of them(which also enabled dual-channel mode)

Of course, when using integrated graphics, dual-channel RAM is always worth it. What resolution you running the game at btw?

800x600 on pretty much medium settings.

I haven't tried 720p yet, because that always felt a bit laggy(I think it had trouble even keeping up 30FPS)

Ah, that explains the frames. I wouldn't think a Pentium with no dedicated GPU could get frame rates like that in 1080p.

This one can do 720p/1080p on some older stuff(I know it ran Silent Hill 2 at those resolutions just fine, and Silent Hill 3 at 720p pretty smooth)

Half-Life 2 as well, I presume?

Haven't tried it, but it runs Portal(and Sin Episodes: Emergence, which is also a source engine game) fine at like 720p and medium-high settings so I assume HL2 would work just fine.

A toaster can run HL2 these days, so I wouldn't be surprised if you can get 1080p in it.
