Follow on Followers 1 This is the kind of boost I got just going from a single 4GB chip, to two of them(which also enabled dual-channel mode) Specs: Lenovo C540 Intel Pentium G2020(Dual Core, 2.9Ghz) Intel HD Graphics(650Mhz-1GHz) 8GB RAM(2x4GB, 1600MHz) Windows 8
long gone 8,929 Posted June 23, 2014 Of course, when using integrated graphics, dual-channel RAM is always worth it. What resolution you running the game at btw? 1 Link to comment

What resolution you running the game at btw? 800x600 on pretty much medium settings. I haven't tried 720p yet, because that always felt a bit laggy(I think it had trouble even keeping up 30FPS) Link to comment

I wouldn't think a Pentium with no dedicated GPU could get frame rates like that in 1080p. Link to comment

This one can do 720p/1080p on some older stuff(I know it ran Silent Hill 2 at those resolutions just fine, and Silent Hill 3 at 720p pretty smooth) Link to comment

FoxyCryptid 4,330 Posted June 23, 2014 Half-Life 2 as well, I presume? Haven't tried it, but it runs Portal(and Sin Episodes: Emergence, which is also a source engine game) fine at like 720p and medium-high settings so I assume HL2 would work just fine. Link to comment

A toaster can run HL2 these days, so I wouldn't be surprised if you can get 1080p in it. Link to comment
