The ticket master is a perfect example about how greed can change a man. When looking on the surface to the episode, it can seem that the main six are just being childish and immature for trying to get that ticket over the back of the other ponies. But the truth is that this can and will happen to everybody, if they just want that item bad enough.

One can argue though, that its weird that the main six didn’t realize that they were putting pressure on Twilight. There is a scene were the main six are all yelling to each other, and Twilight says that she will make the decision on her own. I think the episode would be stronger if the main six left Twilight alone, and that we as viewer saw the struggle Twilight went trough. Because of how the episode is now, the main six bother Twilight so much, we as viewer never really have a moment to feel for Twilight, because she is dragged from one point to another by the rest of the main six.

A thing that happens a lot is that we as viewer start to think who has the best reason to go to the gala. I’ve seen whole video’s about who deserves it the most. But that’s not here or there. The episode shows us that everybody of the main six has a good reason to go, at least in their eyes. What we as viewer think is the best reason has no meaning, as the main six all see their reasons as most important

The real question in this episode for me lies in Celestia. Why the buck would she only send two tickets? She knows Twilight has way more friends. She saw all of them in the Friendship is Magic opener. Also, because Celestia reacted so fast with her letter with enough tickets, that means she had to have those tickets close to her. But why would Celestia have those tickets close to her? Except of course, if Celestia purposely send not enough tickets, probably so that the main six could learn this lesson. I really have the feeling Celestia has way more impact on the lessons Twilight learns then first apparent.
