First Impressions: Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
This isn't gonna be structured like my normal reviews; I'm just gonna be spouting thoughts as I think of them.
And what do I think of it? I LOVE IT. This is my first real foray in to the Zelda series; I dabbled with Ocarina, but it wasn't my cup of tea. This game, though? It was exactly what I wanted. The super open-ended nature was really cool (though I admit to using a walkthrough). The fact that you could go anywhere at anytime was awesome. The dungeons had really clever designs and puzzles; I often found myself remarking at how smart the game was. You'll often have to use two or more of your abilites in conjuction to get past obstacles. The way the painting ability was implemented was really cool, too; at first I thought it would hinder my enjoyment of the game, but I really enjoyed using it (though I often merged in to walls when I didn't intend to). The game's no cakewalk, but it's not super hard, either; the bosses give a fair challenge, and even the regular enemies can be difficult, as many of them can block your attacks. The only point I felt was unfair was when I first entered the parallel world, Lorule; the enemies were much stronger than the ones in Hyrule.
I honestly can't think of any real problems with the game. It was a lot of fun, it gave a fair challenge, it's a good length, everything works. A must have for 3DS owners.
