Digital Drawing VS. Painting.

What I don't understand is why traditional painting gets no credit and this fancy digital art gets so much publicity.

I'm a traditional painter. I work very hard on my paintings and they may take weeks to get it right. We don't have the pleasure of erasing, or in that case very good, so whatever we do on the canvas is permanent.

Don't get me wrong I like digital drawings, but I feel as though traditional painting has lost so much recognition. No one wants a traditional painting in their place, and no one wants a commissioned one.Maybe it's a waste of time. Maybe it doesn't mean anything.

The point is, I'm not hating on people that like Digital drawings and such, I just feel like traditional painters don't get much credit for their work.

Traditional painting is a bitch, cause it takes forever to erase a mistake, and even when you do,it still shows and looks like shit.

Unless you're a flawless artist,you will make a mistake.

That's why I like drawing digital, cause you can erase your mistake with no hassle.

Exactly my point. It's so easy to erase on computer/tablets which makes it so much easier for anybody to draw.

What? Do you actually enjoy having to go through so much frustration just to erase?

It's not about that. Digital Drawing doesn't take skill to me.

Honestly, as I said, all forms of art have their own unique set of difficulties. While digital art may have some assistance with the eraser tool, that doesn't always make the process easier. I've watched various livestreams of people working on digital art, and if you really want to make something detailed with shading and all of that, the eraser tool can be hard to use itself.

Honestly, I get what you're saying and I can sympathize. Traditional paintings aren't as popular on the internet, but that's how it works. It's not that people hate painted works or anything. :)

If people want to use the artwork for digital purposes, then the chances are that a digitally created work will look better on screen than a painting that has been scanned in - more detail at higher resolutions, more vivid colours, etc.
