1945
There are going to be people who won't believe what the Allies found in Poland. Sometimes the truth can be far more horrifying than what the human mind is capable of writing in fiction. I wonder, had the war never started, had we never fought Germany, how many more would have died? How much longer would Hitler's genocide have gone on?
But as I speak, millions of war widows and orphans around the world would gladly give away the future of Europe just to bring back the ones they lost. Are they not wrong? When does one death toll outweigh the other?
Either way, the war is over now. We return to our regularly scheduled, lighthearted music.
It's Only a Paper Moon, by Ella Fitzgerald.
