Laptop Problems

http://www.apple.com/macbook/ It's so beautiful and I want it :( I have more than enough money to buy it but my cousins tell me to wait until June when the price goes down >_> Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Apple products become cheaper unless a new model comes out ^_^ Does anybody know?

I'm fairly certain that does not happen, and IIRC Apple doesn't sell older, cheaper models on their site.

I should know; I own a Macbook Pro from 09. ^^

Soooo... you want a laptop that's beautiful but otherwise non-functional unless you have a billion adapters because it only has a single USB port used for absolutely everything?

Non-functional? Adapters? What?

Non-functional? Adapters? What?

The new Macbook only has one USB port. A USB Type-C port, which has not seen widespread adoption yet, and is not only used for data, but also charging and connecting external displays, and if you want to connect anything to it you need an $80 adapter. Oh, and since it only has one USB port, which is also used for charging, you cannot connect the USB adapter to it while charging. So while it's extremely thin, it's also extremely useless unless you have a bag full of adapters for it, which ruins the whole "portability" thing.

It's an extreme case of form over function, and is made worse by the fact that its Windows-based competitors (as in, ultrabooks with Core M processors) have full-size USB ports... and more than one of them.

Mist if you're interested in a laptop, I'd suggest you consult with Daring as he's our resident computer expert and knows what computer would be good for you.

As Daring said, the new MacBook is actually not a good idea to get due to only having one USB port that will force you to either remove it's charger to exchange data or you can't send data though that MacBook with a flash drive that uses a model not widely used so it will run into compatibility problems too.

Goodness; I didn't realize they brought back the Macbook in such a new form.

In any case, I'd just stick with a Macbook Pro if you could afford it. I don't see the benefit of going with the new Macbook considering the inconveniences.

It does look pretty, but my last two Apple laptops died of hardware failures, so I swore off Apple products a few years ago.
