Kinda bored when I made this, but here's a list of game compilations that people interested should consider getting, of course I'm gonna list both the good and bad(If any) things about them, regardless if it's a big deal or not.

 

DOOM 3 BGF Edition

Games - Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3

 

Good -

Updated version of Doom 3

Comes with both the previous expansion(Resurrection of Evil) and a new expansion(The Lost Mansion)

Comes with both Doom 1(Ultimate Doom version with all add-ons) and Doom 2(and the No Rest For the Living expansion)

 

Bad -

N/A

 

Super Mario All-Stars+Super Mario World

 

Platforms - Super Nintendo

 

Games - Super Mario Bros 1, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Lost Levels, Super Mario World

 

Good -

Super Mario Bros., Lost Levels, SMB2, and SMB3 with updated visuals and music

Comes with Super Mario World

 

Bad -

Lost Levels kind of sucks

 

Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles

 

Platform - PSP

 

Games - Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles(remake of Rondo of Blood), Rondo Of Blood, Symphony of the Night

 

Good -

Playing an updated version of Rondo of Blood

Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood on the go!

Extra items in the PSP version of Symphony of the Night

Updated voice acting for SotN(thought none of the "Classic" lines are there")

 

Bad -

Having the original Rondo of Blood seems redundant

 

Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition

 

Platform - Gamecube

 

Games - Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask

 

Good -

Also comes with the Windwaker Demo

N64 games feel a little smoother

 

Bad -

No A Link to the Past(likely because the GBA port came around the same time)

 

Metal Gear Legacy

 

Platform - PS3

 

Games - Metal Gear 1, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake(both available via MGS3 Subsistance), MGS1-4, VR Missions, Peace Walker

 

Good -

Getting Metal Gear 1 and 2

MGS1-3 all use their updates(Integral, Substance, and Subsistance)

Peace Walker is so much better with a controller than on the PSP

 

Bad -

MGS1 and VR Missions are digital and must be purchased on PSN

No Twin Snakes, Portable Ops or Ghost Babel

 

Sonic Mega Collection

 

Platform - Gamecube, PS2(Plus version), Xbox(Plus Version)

 

Games - Sonic 1-3, Sonic Spinball, 3D Blast, Sonic and Knuckles(including Sonic 2 and 3 with Knuckles), Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Flicky, Ristar, Ooze(japan exclusive in the GC version), Comix Zone(Japanese GC ex), Blue Sphere, Sonic The Hedgehog Gamegear(+), Sonic Chaos(+), Sonic Drift(+), Sonic Labyrinth(+), Sonic Blast(+), Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Game Gear(+)

 

Good -

Holy shit that's a lot of games

Not exclusive to Sonic

Comes with the Sonic and Knuckles Expansions

You have to unlock a lot of games

Ooze and Comix Zone are Japan-Exclusive in the GC version

The games added in Plus really suck

Good -

All are updated to look more like MP3

Games work really well with the Wii Mote

Motion Controls only

Games - Half-Life 2(+Episode 1 and 2), Portal, Team Fortress

 

Good -

5 of the most critically acclaimed PC games coming to consoles

 

Bad -

No Half-Life 1

 

Megaman Anniversary Collection

 

Platforms - PS2, Xbox, Gamecube

 

Games - Megaman 1-8, Megaman Power Battles 1+2

 

Good -

Almost every single main Megaman title up to that point

Getting Megaman Power Battles in the US

 

Bad -

1-6 are pretty much the same

No Megaman & Bass, the Game Boy Games(well really V), or Megaman Soccer

 

Megaman X Collection

 

Platforms - PS2, Gamecube

 

Games - Megaman X-X6, Megaman Battle and Chase

 

Good -

Almost every X game up to that point

The X games feel a little more diverse than Megaman 1-6

Getting Battle and Chase in the US for the first time

 

Bad -

X6's quality is debatable

Battle and Chase is meh

 

Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

 

Platforms - PS2

 

Games - Street Fighter Alpha 1-3, Street Fighter 2 Gold, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Hyper Street Fighter Alpha, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix

 

Good -

Almost every version of every Alpha game made available(minus the PSP version of Alpha 3)

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix includes characters from other Capcom fighters

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix is surprisingly good

Can play each Street Fighter with different tracks

 

Bad -

That's a lot of rerelases in one collection...
