Back when I was 11 years old
My dad introduced me to an older woman who became my baby sitter she was a devout Jehovah's witness, and she also began to take me to meetings on sunday and thursday evenings. with their help I was slowly being acclimated to all but a few things.. Door to door services was new to me and it was one home owner who upon opening the door to us, spit in my face.... well we didn't go back to that house.
the actual atmosphere of kingdom hall is very different from an evangelical church, Kind of like culture shock---at least to me, there is no murals or art work anywhere in a kingdom hall, no rooms set up for baptism and they don't "segregate" people according to age, for example, in my baptist church (and probably in every mainline church) there were bible meetings for both children and adults. at KH all people regardless of age attend the main meetings
