My Initial Impression of MLP: FiM

I actually don't remember when I first watched the series. I do remember that I was sick in bed looking for something to watch on Netflix. I decided to watch a few episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I have to say that I wasn't immediately interested in the series when I first saw it. I went into the series without much background information. In fact, I remember thinking Rainbow Dash was a boy, but I later realized all of the Mane 6 were girls. I think it was her voice that kind of throw me off and the fact that she was blue. Anyway, I stopped watching the series after the first three episodes. I didn't hate the series, but I wasn't interested in watching anymore. It wasn't until last year that I decided to pick up the series again. Re-watching the first three episodes, I found them more enjoyable than when I watched them the first time.

About this time last year is when I first saw the show. Went on a binge and watched the entirety. My girlfriend put it on and something about the show was really intriguing. I had seen the videos of the pink fluffy unicorn some years ago but it was uninteresting; I dismissed the series as valueless. But now I keep rerunning the seasons over and over. I never found out why I like it so much. I simply do. Perhaps it's a world I would much rather live in. I like the characters' designs and concepts. Or maybe it's because it's largely considered unsuitable for an adult to like the show. I have always been attracted to things I "wasn't supposed to be attracted to." Regardless, I don't have any use for a reason to like the show. I love it and that is satisfactory. I love the expressions of the ponies when they talk. Particularly their eyes. The series has bewitched me with passion and inspiration, with which I can master digital painting and writing. That is utility enough.
