Conversion Tower

The planet itself seemed like a war zone, ruins of once great cities low stood there as a remembrance to the once beautiful life it once possessed.
But among one of the structures on the planet there stood a massive tower, with a very odd appearance, standing out from all those ruins.
Gunfire, explosions and cries could be heard all throughout that place.

In one of the corridors stood a cat-like creature on 2 legs, having an orange coat with light orange eyes.
He stood there smirking as he mowed down hordes of creatures with his rifle, firing salvos at a fast rate.
But after a few seconds, a *click* could be heard, meaning his magazine was empty.

One of the advancing creatures took his chance and charged his prey with a fast speed.
However, the cat creature simply let his advancing enemy trip, making it fall on the ground.
He then wasted no time as he crushed its head with its foot, ending its life with a swift dead.

"You are all the same, mindless shells without an own will." he taunted.

He reloaded his rifle, chambering the first bolt into his gun.

His name was Gazail, but many knew him by the nickname of The Voodoo Slayer.
He had earned a reputation among the galaxy for his achievements and became an icon of Resistance against the darkness that plagues the galaxy to this day.

Gazail walked to the corridors of the Conversion Tower, having already slaughtered all those tried to stop him from advancing.
Eventually, he came into a room full of equipment, but it turned out to be an ambush!
One of the creatures duck out from cover and fired at Gazail, who managed to duck behind the corner just in time.

As Gazail stood behind the corner, he knew they had him in a checkmate.
But he did something unexpected as he threw a rock just around the corner towards the one who just tried to shoot him before.
Suffice to say, the creature mistook it for a grenade, not taking the time what actually was throwing towards him, and so it jumped out of cover.

Gazail wasted no time as he switched the rifle to 3 round burst and fired a 3 bullet salvo at the foolish creature.
The bullets hit it target with a decent precision, one bullet hit its head as the other ones hit parts of his upper body.

"What a moron."

But he had spoken too early as 5 new enemies came charging into the room, armed to the teeth.
Gazail however with his immense reflexes, fired off 14 bullets at the group, causing 2 victims to get obliterated as the other 3 went to the corners of the entrance.

He ran towards the body from one of the earlier targets and picked up a hand grenade, pulling the pin and throwing it straight at the group behind the entrance.
One of the enemies took a leap of faith and quickly picked up the grenade, intending on throwing it back, but before he could throw it, Gazail fired a bullet straight into the grenade.
The after effect went very bloody as the creatures were literally blown apart by the grenade explosion.

'Just look at them, sending waves of enemies after me who can't even probably murder someone.' he thought with amusement.

After fighting trough more waves of enemies he eventually reached a room but froze at what he saw.
Hundreds of creatures who looked similar to Gazail where held in weird machines, all just laying there, some of them were even children.

'there must be countless of them here, brothers, sisters... Is this the fate they want to throw at us? Turn us all into mindless beast so we can become their tools of murder?'

He stood there, a look of sorrow on his face, wich was very rare for his personality.

'They are all infected, I may not be able to save them, but the least I can do is prevent them from becoming the thing we all hate.'

He dediced to keep going further, all the way to his destination.
