Yeah, Maud is really awesome. I'm a silent type by myself and had issues with interactions with people when I was a teen. A way much later I figured out how to connect people I like. It's to be honest and tell about your feelings... yes, with words. Exactly like Maud does.

The other thing about Maud I like is that she doesn't care to impress others. She knows what she likes and wants and is building her perfect reality, silently, without attracting attention (like her home under Ponyville - the invisible miracle). The thing I'm still trying to master.

@StoryStorm, thank you for this post. It's a reminder why we appreciate the grayest of all ponies ^•^ Such simple but important things are so easy to forget.

It wouldn't feel like a thriving community without the other characters. Maud Pie I don't remember much about her, but from what I do, she seems cool, and she is knowledgeable about different types of rocks, a skill important for mining and escavation. I think her acceptance of her sister comes from more than annoyance she may otherwise cause other Ponies, Pinkie Pie if I'm not mistaken shows signs of ADHD, I may be missing some important details about Pinkie Pie's characterization but it seems to be the case, and it's very nice that others show their acceptance of her, knowing disability or lack thereof is not a character flaw, in the same way Rainbow Dash showed her acceptance of Muffins "Derpy Hooves".

Maud Pie may seem disinterested a lot of the time, but looks can be deceiving, not everyone is going to have the happy go lucky personalities, at least Maud Pie isn't a negative individual toward others, despite her outward expression, she behaves nothing like Mandy from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy who is often portrayed as snarky and entitled, yeah she may smile less often than other Ponies in Equestria, but Maud Pie has a lovable personality in that she respects others boundaries and she doesn't judge her sister harshly for her behavior.

That's why she's one of my favorite Ponies
