So, FNAF 2 movie just came out, and I figured now would be a good a time as ever to share my lore for Michael Afton, my favorite goofy ahh in FNAF.

So without further ado: 

Pink's Michael Afton, Lore and Characterization:

Michael Afton, or as he used to be named Michael Schmidt, was kidnapped by William Afton at the ripe old age of 5, who used him to test his sleep deprivation experiments, which made Michael more emotional and vunerable to deception by William, who gaslit him into believing he was always Michael's father.

During all of this, William had been raising his actual children, Davey (CC) and Elizabeth, who always wondered what was in the basement, but William either kept them away from it or scared them into believing there was a monster down there. 

Michael was kept down there, never allowed upstairs, William fed him and gave him nessecities, but was cold toward him a lot of the time.

Now keep in mind, Michael thought that Will was his real father, mostly because of the sleep depriving gas that caused him to lose memory and hallucinate, therefore, the nightmare animatronics were all a part of Michael's broken state.

Michael was allowed rest, but only 1-3 hours, just enough that he wouldn't die.

When Davey turned 5 and Elizabeth turned 7, they got to see the "monster" in the basement, their "brother" Michael.

Michael desparately wanted to be upstairs with them, but William wouldn't let him, soon, Michael got rebellious and began his spiteful phase, dyed hair, hoodie, ripped jeans, the works.

William didn't care because then the town wouldn't recognize him if he went out, Michael befriended Jeremy Fitzgerald, known for being the town's class clown.

Jeremy would later find out about him being the missing Michael Schmidt when he was hanging with Mike one day, and the two walked past a missing poster, Jeremy said: "Dude, I think you're Michael Schmidt, you did just come out of nowhere, almost like you were...Missing," 

Michael was distraught and confronted William, who by this point had murdered Charlie, he locked Michael in the basement, drugged him, and then injected the remnant extracted from Charlie into Michael's left eye, causing it to change into a ghostly black with a white pupil, and giving Mike bad vision in that eye, and terrible bouts of anger randomly. 

That's why Michael wears an eyepatch, not for aesthetic like many, including Jeremy think. 

And that's how Davey died, Michael's anger showed through for being unloved by William and watching Davey get attention, he noted Davey was scared of Fredbear, so he wanted to scare him, just a bit...but it ended in the Bite of 83.

William treated Michael terribly that night, nothing to eat, and only an hour and a half of sleep "consequences for your actions" Will had said. 

Jeremy snuck over that night and helped Mike free, even though he were a bit of a clown, Mike was grateful to have him as a friend.

They went to the pizzeria to kill some time, but found that the animatronics were moving even though the power wasn't on...

And that's how it leads into the Resprung Five Nights at Freddy's. But that's a story for another time kiddies, hope you liked my little bit of lore!
