CW: Attempted murder, slight cursing, topics of child death

Something was up with William, Michael knew it, he was acting oddly happy for what happened a few days ago.

It was odd being upstairs, not stuck in the basement strapped to his bed and not permitted to ever leave, he looked around the kitchen, taking in the change of scenery.

"What'd you want from me?" He snarled, "Now Michael, is that any way to speak to your father? I just want to have a talk over some lunch, so I'm taking you to Freddy's," William said in a sickenly sweet tone of voice.

Back to Freddy's...'F*ck,' he thought, Michael's entire brain was blaring alarm sounds, but he hadn't a choice.

"Come, Michael, don't you want to have a good time with me, for the first time? To reconcile?" William said, he slipped Michael a plate of something.

He narrowed his eyes at it, 'Pancakes?' He thought, William never had given him pancakes before, usually something that could either be microwaved or a sandwich, he didn't even know William could cook.

He was DEFINITELY acting suspicious, "Did you put something in these?" Michael said critically, looking at the plate closely. They LOOKED how pancakes should, smelled like it too. But he had to be vigilant, letting his guard down around William was one of the worst ideas he could have.

"Oh, Michael, here we go again with the suspicions, I made something special for once and you think I drugged it?" William pouted, he did this all the time, guilt tripping him, gaslighting him, Michael rolled his eyes and took a wary bite of the pancakes.

"See, was that so hard to do? You like them, don't you?" William cooed, ruffling and petting at Michael's hair like when he was younger.

Michael flinched away from him, "Michael, don't be dramatic, I'm not going to hurt you...I just want to give you affection, like a parent would, you've done nothing wrong," William said softly.

Michael was suspicious of William, but he wanted to be held at that moment because of Jeremy being in the hospital, so he cuddled himself into his once considered father's arms, burying his face in the wooly purple turtleneck sweater with the atrocious lime green stripe.

William was sad at this, but he couldn't let Michael see, he was sad because this was the last time he'd feel his son's embrace, he was going to kill Michael and put his body in the Spring Bonnie animatronic, his son embodying the very essence of the character he built, his two proudest creations becoming one.

But he'd make sure Michael felt no pain at all, he'd feel nothing, he didn't want Michael to find out.

Michael finished his pancakes and followed William out to the car, he slid into the passenger seat and pulled up his hood. He lulled his head against the back of the seat and closed his eyes, finally resting again for once.

William wondered whether or not to go through with killing Michael, he decided that he had to, that was it, his mind was made up, he was going to do it, he was going to murder his boy, but he HAD to.

The suit lay in the back of the car, he'd told Michael he was taking it back after repairing it, he had believed him.

They finally arrived and William let him out of the car, William dragged the suit from the backseat and Michael helped him carry it.

Once they were inside, William turned to Michael, "Want me to show you how it works? I don't think you've ever seen me in it before," Michael nodded slowly, and flicked his eyes to the showstage, trying to catch the animatronics malfunctioning like before.

They stunk too, how long had it been since those damn casings had been washed? Once William put the suit on in the back he waved Michael over.

As Michael followed William to the backstage, something felt...off.

William had told him they had to come back here because if the security cameras caught him wearing the suit after hours and Henry reviewed the footage, William could get his rights to use the suit revoked.

But William knew why he brought Michael back here, there were no cameras back there and no one would catch him murdering his own son if there was someone here after hours.

They'd think a random crazy employee came in and murdered a kid who got locked in over the weekend.

Michael heard the lock click loudly behind them, "Uh...Dad? Why'd you lock the door?" He whimpered.

Damn, the boy heard the lock, William was so sure it would click quietly, now he was rethinking his steps.

"It must've locked automatically," William chuckled nervously, Michael took a step back from William, "No, no, I saw you lock it, I saw you, what are you planning?!" He shouted.

"Michael, please," William pleaded, "Are you trying to kill me?! Oh my God...Oh my God, you killed those kids didn't you? Hold on, the bodies were never found were they? The animatronics moving...The reeking, rotting smell coming from them...It was never a malfunction, and the cases never needed washing...You killed them!"

Michael had figured it out, he knew that William had caused the Missing Children's Incident of 87.

"Michael, listen, I HAD to, I had to for the sake of the pizzeria! If the animatronics were haunted by children then they'd be more lifelike and connectable for the guests, especially for the kids! Don't you see? I made them great!" William explained to an increasingly more frightened Michael, he basked in his glory a bit before turning his attention back to his son.

"No! No you didn't! You took them away from their families, you slaughtered them without a thought, you knew it would be wrong, and you killed them anyway! They were probably cold and scared, and crying for their mommies and daddies, and you still stabbed them in the backs! They were children, Dad...children! It was Gabriel's birthday, damn it!"

Michael said, sobbing now for the lost lives of those poor children.

"Michael, you don't understand..." William started, but Michael interrupted, "I understand perfectly...And what of me? What were you planning for me just a few minutes prior? What were you going to do?"

"I was going to kill you too, Michael...I was going to make you a part of my greatest creation...Spring Bonnie...I wanted my last day with you to be special, so I gave you the pancakes, and I let you sleep late, and I brought you upstairs, and I gave you all the love in my heart, because this was supposed to be your end before the...change, the...transformation into your new form,"

Oh God, he was crazy, here Michael thought William didn't care about him at all, but little did he know he cared about him in the most obsessive and corrupted way imaginable.

William wanted to keep him in this stage of his life forever, never to grow up, to stay his little Mikey forever and ever and ever.

For all of time...

"Don't be afraid, Michael...Your death will be peaceful and without pain, I promise...You'll like your new body, it's the perfect existence, no more pain or a need to sleep, no more experiments, and you'll be making the children happy! The business will be benefitted exponentially, and I'll always have time to be around you now, I swear,"

William rested a hand on Michael's cheek, Michael shoved his hand away, "Stay away from me!" He growled.

William stepped back in surprise, but decided to go through with his killing of Michael.

He brought out the knife still hidden in the room from the incident, Michael backed up until he was stuck in a corner, "Gotcha, kiddo...Just relax for me, close your eyes, and soon when you wake up, everything will be anew," William said in a tone that tried to be soothing.

There was nothing Michael could do, William began to dig the knife into his son's chest, Michael felt the blade starting to stick in and the blood start to soak into his black and purple hoodie, he let out a sharp gasp as the blade went in deeper.

William winced, he realized this wasn't the painless death he promised Michael, but it was already too late.

He tried to be quicker...he realized it may hurt him worse, he was conflicted...But Michael probably wouldn't even remember dying anyways.

Michael shut his eyes tight in an effort to make the pain go away, but it didn't.

Michael thought it was over, that William would succeed in killing him and keeping him trapped inside of the Spring Bonnie animatronic for all of his afterlife.

But suddenly, the lock turned, and Henry stepped in.

"Will? Oh my Lord! Will, what are you doin?!" He gasped out loud as he realized exactly what William was attempting.

"Henry, I can explain-" William started, holding a golden metal hand over Michael's mouth.

"You're that missing boy aren't you? Michael Schmidt! William, how could you do something this heinous? I know you're probably grieving over your kids but this is no way to deal with something like this! You need serious help! You sicken me! And you KNOW that the pizzeria's reputation has been damaged enough by this kind of thing happening here, why would you start up and murdering too? You know what happened to those kids!"

"Henry..." William chuckled menacingly, "Michael's my son, he's always been my son...my flesh and blood...My joy, the light in my life, someone with great potential, and now he can experience the enlightenment the other children have...You wonder who killed the children? You wonder what happened to their bodies? I know what happened, I know what happened to them, Henry..."

William took off the Spring Bonnie head, showing a callous sneer, he then said the thing that Henry never would have expected to hear from his longtime friend and business partner.

"I killed them...I did it, Henry...I made them better, they're so much better off in those suits, now they can be just like the characters...forever,"

"Michael, come over here, I'll protect you!" Henry said, frantically waving the boy over.

William looked at Michael, "Please don't leave me here alone Michael, you need me Michael! Remember, I'm the only one who will ever love you, Henry will never be able to care for you like I can," he begged.

"I don't need YOU, it's you who needs ME, you're not my father...I thought I needed you to depend on as a scared child, but I don't," Michael ran from William over to Henry.

"Michael, please! Stop this foolishness, I can put you back together, I swear it," William demanded.

"One day, hell will swallow you whole, don't keep your demons starving, Will," Henry spat.

Michael didn't even look at William as Henry led him out of the pizzeria.

William swore he heard a chuckle, but, none of them had moved their lips, and no one found this funny.
