Sleeping Dogs Review
Sleeping Dogs is an open-world, third-person shooter. unlike most third-person games, guns arent in majority of the game, it is mainly focused around Martial Arts. Players take the role of Wei Shen, an ex-Triad cop, sent to Hong Kong to infiltrate the Triads.
Gameplay- like all open-world games, Sleeping Dogs provides a variety of cars, bikes and boats to travel around the city, Wei also has the ability to parkour up walls and jump across buildings. the fighting mechanics to me, seem to be like Assassins Creed, as you can counter oncoming enemy attacks and deal your own damage, you can also use the environment to defeat your enemies with quite brutal conclusions. the gunplay is rather fun, with slow-motion dives and even car chases.
Graphics- I think to myself, if the game runs jumpy on high graphics, it must have decent graphics. though sometimes, I've noticed that Wei can sometimes be randomly covered in blood when you havent even been fighting. however the city, NPCs and vehicles all look evenly done, and I can say, it looks beautiful. even when it rains, the road starts to shine up when light goes across it, beautiful job there.
Story- The story is brilliant. the idea of an ex-Triad being recruited into the police and then sent to rejoin the Triads is amazing, and the missions actually display the everyday life of a Triad, some good, some bad. there were a few parts that made me shed a manly tear for a fallen comrade and some that made me feel completely powerful.
all-in-all Sleeping Dogs is fantastic and I 100% recommend it. hope you enjoyed the review, goodonyaz
