CITRUS KING randomly a gives a movie recommendation.
Crap. Didn't realize that by promising to do a movie review every week, starting last week, I'd have to do actual work. Hrrrrrmmmm. Well, I didn't get to go to the movies this week, partially because money is tight, and because I have little to no interest in the week's big new movie, The Great Gatsby. Star Trek Into Darkness is next week, so I'll be reviewing something recent next week. Probably. In the mean time, have a recommendation for a movie from January that just got a DVD release.
Do you like horror movies?
Do you like good horror movies?
Do You like good horror movies with some semblance of depth or artistry, using old tropes in a interesting manner and combining genuinely great performances and themes of family dynamics and the economic crisis with the best movie monster since the aliens in Attack the Block?
Yes?
You should probably go check out Mama.
Aw geez.
Imagine this...
Yes, that's the guy who made Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone saying that this is the scariest thing he's ever seen.

...but as a full length film. And even creepier.
Yeah, it's awesome. Caught this in the theaters by pure chance, glad I did. Definitely worth a watch, 8/10, check it out.
