Two Months of No Writing is Death

The last time I sat down and wrote any considerable portion of OTSW (or anything, for that matter) was in March.

Mother of Jeebus, it is almost June and I've done nothing.

I tried writing the other night and it went terribly. Like, I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and crap a better story segment then what I came up with the other night. It was...yikes. It is sitting on my desktop in it's own little Word document. I can't stand to open it or delete it. And God forbid I post it where other people can read it.

Hmm. Let's see what I have coming up next for OTSW. Just a snippet, because I read ahead and what I have further on sucks. Actually, this part sucks too. All of it sucks. Trust me, the first draft of my writing is NEVER good.

The rifle shook in my unsteady hands. I heard the echoing voice of Francis in my head, instructing me in the proper etiquette of shooting – and killing – in our lesson just minutes earlier.

Look down the sights. Breathe out as you squeeze the trigger. Don’t blink. Trust me: in a firefight, blink and you’re dead.

I gazed down the long barrel of the hunting rifle at my target. It was sitting on a rock, unmoving. Impossible to miss.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I braced the gun against my shoulder, crouching down in a vain attempt to cease my shaking. Breathe in, wait.

The shivering left my body. Start pulling the trigger.

Pull a little more.

I blinked.

^ See? Terrible. Not that I really care. I'll probably scrap this later. Oh well.

I'm working with Hiddenpairer on our collaborative piece; we hope to soon send it in to EquestriaDaily. I think it is good enough to make it past their strict standards. Why don't you be the judge? Read it. You know you want to.

I also have an idea or two for an MLP-themed story, but I would like to try working with a coauthor. If you're interested, PM me and we can talk it over.

I'm tired.
