Spirit Gamezzz...

...oh, hey, gotta wake up and make a...make a post...(so tired!)

My high school does Spirit Week at the end of the year; on the last day of this week is the Spirit Games. There's a bunch of games and competitions and stuff between the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors to see who takes home the Spirit Goblet (there are multiple competitions throughout the year to decide who holds the Goblet for the next few months).

By junior year, my class had STILL not won the Goblet. Not once. Mainly because we just don't give a damn.

So anyway, this year was turning out different: our class kept accumulating points throughout the year, and be the Games we were actually doing not-too-terrible. This year the games included an "obstacle course", a tennis ball launch-then-catch, a tug-of-war, a dance off, and the chariot race.

Holy balls.

The chariot race.

Imagine the most glorious thing you have ever seen. That is a pile of poo compared to the awesomeness of the chariot race. Normally each class gets eight runners and one person in the chariot; groups of two runners run 400 meters (one lap around the track) and hand off to the next group. Well, this year we were running short on time so we had to cut it down. This is what the juniors were told:

Four runners total. Two run 200 meters, two run 200 meters, done.

This is what actually happened:

@NeonDinosGoMeow and I run 200 meters. We hand off to Mathis and Austin. Those two run 400 meters. Jonathan and I are forced to run another 200 meters.

Dissecting the race, we ran well. This year they staggered the start so that everyone wasn't tripping over each other (NeonDinos and I caused a massive pile-up last year. Shit was hilarious.) Neon and I ended up with about a 50 meter lead by the time we handed off. We watched as Mathis and Austin ran around to the finish line...and kept running.

While everyone else had EIGHT FREAKING RUNNERS, we had four. We knew this was gonna suck.

By the time Neon and I got the chariot a second time with 200 left, the seniors had caught up big time. As we rounded the corner and coming into the straightaway towards the finish line in front of the stands where EVERYONE WAS FLIPPING A ROYAL BITCH OVER THE AWESOME RACE, Neon yells "Go out!" And so we cut off the seniors and got yelled at by all of the teachers.

In the last stretch, we were in the center of the track and the seniors were on the outside. Our pole vault champion was right behind me; due to how the chariots are designed, their chariot was pushing the back of my knees. We crossed the line like that. The judges said that, because their chariot pushed my team ahead, we technically won.

Final spirit points scores:

Freshman: Who cares?

Sophomores: Nobody does, that's who.

Juniors: 5200

Seniors: 5000

Doesn't matter that I just about went into heat stroke. We finally won something! wub.png

But I have my SAT test tomorrow morning, so I'm gonna go pass out now. See you lat- *passes out from sheer exhaustion*
