Our Awesome Community
Okay, first off I wanna tell you guys I've changed the name of my blog from "Nilkad Speaks" to "Nilkad Rants." This is for two reasons: 1) I suddenly had an epiphany and realized just how stuck-up and egotistical calling it "Nilkad Speaks" made me sound and 2) "Rants" is more accurate. Anyway, I now return you to your regular scheduled ranting.

Today, I decided that I should rant about something positive, because I'm feeling pretty overall positive today. So, I was wondering what I could rant about that's positive, listening to some of The Living Tombstone's music, when it hit me: The brony community, and the artists. Now, it's pretty common knowledge that the brony community is awesome. But, the best example, is when I first joined this site, back in June. Now, I have been a part of other fandoms, and I've frequented other fansites. And absolutely none of them have been anywhere near as accepting and friendly of the brony community. For example, I joined a certain Legend of Zelda fansite, after being a serious fan of the series for 7 years and having actively seeked knowledge about the series for five years. So, as you can probably guess, when it came to Zelda I knew what the hell I was talking about. However, when I joined, the entire community of the site, including the admins themselves, essentially dismissed me as a new fan who hasn't been around long enough to have anything worth saying. Now, joining this site one the other hand, I went and introduced myself, and immediately the community was actively welcoming and friendly, and a good many people were immediately willing to talk to me and listen to what I had to say. I just want to say, that is truly a wonderful thing, and it really touched me, as I'm the person who is almost never immediately welcomed or accepted. So, thank you all. Now, to the second part of this rant, the artists. There are some truly amazing brony artist, creating true masterpieces, both in drawings, the written word, and in music. I'm especially a fan of the brony musicians, specifically The Living Tombstone, Jappleack, Mic the Microphone, Eurobeat Brony, Mandopony, and my personal favorite, Glaze. I just love to see these people putting out their art, truly expressing themselves freely, as they see fit. It really is amazing, and it just amazes me that these people could be so inspired by a TV show aimed at little girls. These are truly amazing times we live in, when such an wonderful and unprecedented movement can be so prevalent and produce such wonderful things. I'm proud to call myself a brony, and I'm glad to be a part of such an awesome fandom.
