If you have read my last blog entry you know that I am now out of work due to a work related knee injury. I was prescribed Naproxen to control the pain and inflammation but because of some rather undesirable side effects I have decided that the cure is far worse than the disease and have decided to not take that anymore. My stomach felt like someone bashed it in with sledgehammer and I was so constipated that I felt more backed up than a big city highway during rush hour. I took Ibuprofin but it had the same nasty effects on me, I already knew about these potential side effects and was lucky enough to not have them during my last 3 knee injuries but I have decided that if I am going to take anything at all it is going to be aspirin. Sure aspirin is not entirely free of side effects either but it has far far less of them than other NSAID's (non steroidal anti inflammation drugs) and my physical therapist gave me this topical ointment to use. Alot of time I don't whether to curse my obscenely high tolerance for pain or consider it a blessing, it is one of the things that got me into trouble in the first place yet when I do get hurt it gives me the strength to endure the pain.

My first physical therapy appointment was just earlier today went well, I am bit sore afterwards but that is of course to be expected. He moved my leg in ways to try to determine where most of my pain was, I spent 10 minutes on an exercise bike, did a few stretching exercises and finished it off by having electrodes strapped to my knee which is actually a lot less painful than it sounds. The best way I can describe it is it is like and electronic massage, it is feels good and is actually quite relaxing. Because of my restrictions it looks like it will be at least another before I return to work. I have a final exam to take for school this Tuesday and then I will done with that for a while which will free up quite a bit of time. And one of the things I plan to do with that time is to once again start writing my fanfic Rarity Gets Cockroaches. Chapter 1 has been on fimfiction for quite a while now and I am hoping to post chapter 2 and 3 fairly soon. I am dealing with some pacing issues on chapter 2 which I usually tend to deal with toward the first chapter of a story I am writing but I know this story will turn out good if I give it the right attention.
