  1. Another great episode! Season 4 is well on it's way to being my favorite thus far. Did the episode have superior writing? Probably not, and I'm sure there were plotholes a plenty, but it was a well-made episode that capture my attention wholeheartedly. Alot of nostalgia too considering how Faust had worked on The Powerpuff Girls way back when ( of which this episode reminded me of quite a bit). The moral of the story was a bit meh, and while I'm very quickly growing tired of the whole "Spike feels unimportant" niche the writers are falling into, the episode was enjoyable enough in content to make me not really care. All in all: I enjoyed the episode quite a bit, even if it didn't do much for story or character development. It's just some good ole' fashioned cartoon silliness, which is a nice change of pace from the rather serious over-arching story the show has been setting up since Season 3. No world-ending threat, no deus ex machina, just 30-minutes worth of superhero themed pony goodness.
  2. Another thing to point out about the Season 4 opener: It takes place exactly one year (canonically) after the first episode! After all, this is the first Summer Sun Celebration after Luna's return (or at least that's the vibe I got from some of Celestia's lines).
  3. I wouldn't care, but I don't see it happening either. Twilight made sense (kind of). Being the protege of the highest authority in the kingdom sort of implies that the protege will eventually take over the master's responsibilities (or in this case, share them). However, none of the other ponies have any direct connection to either of the royal sisters, and the only one remotely close to that dream is Rarity, who has once or twice expressed the desire to become royalty (but not an alicorn specifically). While it may make sense if the Mane 6 eventually go on to replace Celestia and Luna as protectors (and rulers) of Equestria, it's about as likely as Twilight going back to being a Unicorn; that is to say, it's very unlikely.
  4. Contrary to what I said before I'm calling it now: The box contains nothing, but the trails and hardships the Mane 6 will face to obtain the six keys will inevitably bring them closer together as friends, and they will realize they do not need to rely on the Elements of Harmony to overcome obstacles or threats presented to them. Upon this revelation, the Mane 6 will find a way to defeat the bad guy of the season finale, and Twilight will overcome her season-long anxiety about becoming distant from her friends simply because she is a princess now.
  5. My money is on it being something makes the Mane 6 "even" again. Considering how much the show staff has been arguing against the claims that it is going to become the "Princess Twilight Show", I can only imagine it's wings and horns for everyone, or (very unlikely) a way for Twilight to become a Unicorn again. Perhaps they'll all get Alicorn "power-up forms"? It could also be a new set of elements, though. Whatever it is, I imagine the threat for the finale will need to be pretty big in order to justify a whole-season-long story arc focusing on the box and it's contents.
  6. I believe either Applejack or Rarity called it a "Cragodile". A fitting name if you ask me.
  7. I gotta say, I was skeptical towards Season 4, but after seeing what I think are two of the better written episodes so far, I think I'll stick around a bit longer. I can't wait to see what they do now that they've gotten rid of the show's "get out of jail free card".
  8. Rarity, without a shadow of a doubt. The other members of the Mane 6 are likable in their own ways, but Rarity has a special charm and uniqueness to her that I don't feel any other character on the show has been able to match. Not mention she's had all the best songs and she steals the spotlight almost everytime. Rarity is best pony.
  9. According to a tweet from Meghan McCarthy, there will probably be an episode in which two of Tabitha St. Germain's characters interact quite a bit. My money is on a Rarity/Luna episode.
  10. I topped out my stock Jetta TDI at roughly 110MPH last summer and held that speed for a solid 10 seconds or so. I would've pushed it further, but the car just couldn't possibly go faster. I'm luck the state trooper I flew by didn't decide to chase me. I should say that what I did was very dangerous and stupid, and I would advise everyone else to stay off of open roads if you plan on driving that quickly. Do it on the track, or not at all. EDIT : Fastest in a non-gasoline Car! Yay!
  11. That'll probably happen before all three get their cutie marks, but I still don't see it happening in Season 4. I'm almost willing to bet money on it.
  12. There are still plenty of stories that can be told without any of the Crusaders getting their marks. My Little Pony is Hasbro's flagship brand, so Meghan and her team at DHX are in it for the long run. It's not that I don't want the CMC to get their Cutie Marks, I just don't see it happening anytime soon. :/
  13. CMC will probably only get their marks temporarily like in The Cutie Pox. I really doubt they'd close off that many story opportunities for the CMC until the very last season of Friendship is Magic.
  14. Meh, I'm indifferent about Princess Twilight. I don't see why she was ever made a princess at all (outside of toy promotion). Celestia clearly does not need a successor, given that she is pressumably immortal, and even if she croaked, she has Luna would is very nearly just as immortal and just as old and wise. The method of becoming a princess wasn't presented well enough in the show for me to care about her "achievement" either. If princesses are just the masters of a specific thing (Friendship, Love, the Sun, the Moon) can we infer there are princesses of things like cooking, gardening, mathematics, or falconry? Who decides if someone is proficient enough to become a princess? I'm really hoping that the Season 4 opener can explain some of these things and convince me to care, otherwise I feel making Twilight a princess was nothing more than a cheap cash grab. It doesn't help that her title apparently changes absolutely nothing.
  15. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more world-building, but a Celestia/Luna episode where they simply go back and forth trying to out-prank each other ala Tom & Jerry would be a dream come true for me.
  16. 1.) Deal with Princess Twilight/Twilicorn: I don't care how they do it, I don't even care if they leave her as an Alicorn or change her back, I just want what happened in Magical Mystery Cure to have some kind of significance rather than a 30-minute commerical for toys. 2.) More Rarity: I say this all the time, but I want more Rarity. She was very charming and lovable the few times she played a part in Season 3, but she just does not get enough love. Hell, even Spike has more episodes than her at this point. 3. More Celestia and Luna: I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I want a Celestia and Luna episode, and I'm not talking about an episode where they just show up, I mean an episode all to themselves. A Celestia/Luna episode done in the style of Tom & Jerry would be the icing on a very delicious cake in my book.
  17. I guess you could still call me a "blank flank", as I've got idea what it is I want to do with my life yet. As for social interests and what have you, I simply don't care. I've always been a very introverted person and I probably always will be.
  18. I personally don't see the point in having two different terms that describe the same thing. I'd be all for changing Brony to something a little more gender-neutral, but a change like that is unlikely to ever happen. Why confuse non-fans and haters with different terminology? The way I see it; we're all fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, what goes on below the belt is irrelevant.
  19. ^ This 100%. The term 'Brony; is unisex, and describes any fan of MLP:FiM who is not part of the intended demographic, male or female. Considering how we're the punching bag of the internet and we're hated by most (most often for no reason at all), segergating the fandom does nothing but hurt us.
  20. I would argue the line between villains and antagonists is pretty clear. Nightmare Moon wanted to engulf the entire world in darkness, Flim and Flam merely wanted to run the Apple Family out of business. Discord wanted to plunge the world into eternal chaos, Gilda simply did not like Pinkie Pie. Chrysalis wanted to drain all Equestria of it's love and take over, Diamond Tiara simply bullies Apple Bloom for not having a cuite mark. Trixie is a special case, because her personality in Magic Duel is vastly different from that in Boast Busters. The Alicorn Amulet corrupts it's user, so while I too would consider Magic Duel Trixie to be a villain, she only qualifies as such because of the Alicorn Amulet. Perhaps putting her in both the antagonist poll (No Amulet) and the villains poll (With Amulet) could help? I still believe we should have two polls as comparing Chrysalis to Flim/Flam is just absurd.
  21. I had one and it was merged. I think what we really need are two seperate polls; one for antagonists (trixie, gilda etc.) and one for villains (Discord, Sombra etc.). As for the comic's new villain, her name is official. They mention her by it on the last page of Issue #6.
  22. That's fine with me, I didn't even know we had another thread like this floating around, otherwise I wouldn't have made mine. Anyway, I really recommend the comics, you're not too far behind yet, so I'd suggest giving them a read sometime. I suppose it's worth mentioning that my favorite villain is Nightmare Rarity. She's gotten about two panels of screentime so far, but her design is amazing!
  23. It's time we settle this. Who is the best villain? I've got a poll here and we're going to vote. I know there are quite a few threads like this, but this time around, we have more villains, so I figured a new poll should be made. In case anyone has forgotten who these villains are: Nightmare Moon Fueled by jealousy, Princess Luna transformed into Nightmare Moon and attempted to plunge the world into eternal night. Defeated by her sister using the Elements of Harmony, Luna was banished in the moon for 1,000 years, until she broke free and was defeated a second time, by Twilight and her friends. Discord Chaos in physical form. Long before Celestia and Luna, Discord ruled over Equestria in chaos! Among his many dastardly deeds, chocolate rain and cotton candy clouds were some of his most memorable. He was eventually defeated by Celestia and Luna, and later, by the Mane 6. He has since been freed and reformed, having learned (mostly) the error of his ways. Queen Chrysalis The malevolent queen of the changelings, Chrysalis wants nothing more than to complete drain Equestria of it's love. Having failed to take over Canterlot via infiltration, Chrysalis later attacked Ponyville using brute force. After kidnapping most of Ponyville, Chrysalis had the intention of draining Twilight Sparkle of both her love and magic, but was inevitabley defeated by the very mare she had planned to drain. King Sombra After completely enslaving the Crystal Empire and corrupting it's power source, the Crystal Heart; King Sombra was swiftly dealt with by Celestia and Luna. Turned to shadow, he cursed the Crystal Empire, and both disappeared for 1,000 years. However, Sombra did not remain banished, and attempted to reclaim the Crystal Empire after his thousand year slumber, only to be defeated by the very thing he sought out the most: the Crystal Heart. Nightmare Rarity Kidnapped by shadows, and imprisoned on the moon, Rarity has been corrupted by the very darkness that fueled Princess Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon. Upon succumbing to the darkness, Rarity appears in front of her friends as the Queen of the darkness: Nightmare Rarity.
  24. Doubtful. Hearth's Warming Eve wasn't really a Christmas episode so much as it was a holiday episode. Other than Rarity's Christmas Tree Hat, there were no commonalities. An Easter episode would be very unlikely as well, as it is strictly a Christian holiday.
