  1. Infinity War

Given how Marvel films like to make their credits flashy and heroic, seeing the ending of Infinity War just back and white text reading like an obituary with the music both giving a feeling of devastating defeat as well as a sad rendition of the Avengers theme really makes the ending hit more. Still one of my favorite Superhero films

The question is WHY though? Why is it that shitty cartoons like that one last so many years but all the good ones barely last any time at all?

What's next? Are people gonna start saying Thundercats Roar is better than Thundercats 2011? I am so glad He-Man got a proper reboot eventually with Revelations and didn't suffer such an awful fate.

All of those shows you listed didn't even last long, either being cancelled within the year or cancelled after a season or two or just went along its initial run. Thundercats Roar was cancelled in less than a year and had the second half of it's season dumped throughout November after a 5 month hiatus

As for TTG? I guess it resonates better with people than expected, heck I see a random out of context clip pop out every now and then and honestly I think it's a lot better than people give it credit for. I don't know what else to tell you

  3. I don't really think anything can top the phone call about a loved one's passing. Aside from that, I think the only thing that comes close was my brother telling me my dad was let go from his job he spent at least 15 years at. At the time I was living with my cousin for about 4 months but I basically had to drop everything to move back and help out while he was able to get another job(which thankfully he did)

  4. AI shouldn’t be banned but it should be heavily regulated. One issue regarding AI is that it heavily relies on what is available on the internet to creat work, i.e., stealing other people’s work, and obviously people don’t like that. There’s also the argument of AI being tool which, yes, it is, but it’s not a replacement. Artwork that’s completely AI has no heart or soul put into, and often full of blemishes that are obvious not the result of human error. I’ve seen it used effectively as a tool, maybe a prompt to give an idea then draw it themselves.  But those examples are few and far in between.

I get it, not everyone is an artist and can just create themselves, but really, just the idea of AI generating artwork, actors, voices, and just pieces of media, etc, just feels really dystopian

    YouTube removed :ooh:those dislikes?

You can still dislike videos, but you can't see Dislikes anymore, at least not without extensions. They say this was done to "create a more positive experience" but we all know who this actually is meant for(companies)

  6. I'm definitely in the "he should have never been reformed camp" but admittedly that largely comes from the S5+ run of the show as S4 had a clear direction for him, but after it was clear they only kept him to get the most out of John DeLancie at the expense of FiM's world and stories, it just felt like he really only stuck around to make everyone but Fluttershy miserable, with S9 being some of the show's worst habits with him being put on full blast, and everyone only tolerated him because they really wanted to push the idea that he had a thing for Fluttershy.

Admittedly, if he got more episodes like Discordant Harmony and less....everything else, I probably would have tolerated him a lot more

  7. There's plenty of good modern day cartoons, and it's not even a matter of "your just not looking hard enough" they're pretty abundant

Ehhh.  One just needs to be willing to look around better for the good stuff.  Amphibia and The Owl House from earlier in the decade to last year being some examples.

    As for currently:

    - The Ghost and Molly McGee

    - Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur

    - Hailey's On It

    - Strawberry Shortcake Berry in the Big City

    - My Adventures With Superman

    - Gremlins Secret of the Mogwai

    - Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake

    - Hilda

Just that looking at how the 80s (My decade so to speak) for example really had only a handful or two of gems or how the 70s really had very little in terms of quality, kind of hard to see what we had in 2020-2023 as the worst.

Perhaps in my case, my flexible tastes just work to my advantage.  I guess like with comics, I tend to see people just presuming that there is little to no good, cause they tend to stick within the most familiar types of shows.

This here is a pretty good list that's just scratching the surface, there's still plenty of good shows currently running like Disenchantment(though I think that recently ended) and Transformers Earthspark

Most cartoons these days seem to just be there to rot people's brains and turn kids into idiots. They have nothing to offer but stupidity, randomness, and toilet humor. Examples: Breadwinners, Pickle and Peanut, Sanjay and Craig, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and Teen Titans Go etc.

What year is it? Seriously, these are all late 00's-early 2010's cartoons that barely lasted a year. And Teen Titans Go I'm really sick of seeing always pop up as examples of why "cartoons are down the toilet", besides the fact that's it's not indicative of the state of the animation industry as people are still making their own shows their way, but it's lasted for almost 10 years so evidently people still like it. It's time to let it go

  8. Project M/Project+ for Super Smash Bros Brawl, improves the gameplay but even goes as far as including brand new characters, and like, actual new characters and not just skin swaps like you see in Ultimate(famously Mewtwo and Roy were added, but Project+ goes as far as to include Knuckles, and many more are in the work(some I'm interested in trying out in the future are Krystal and FFVIII's Squall. Hoping someone can eventually add Zero and Gray Fox at some point)

Speaking of fighting game mods, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 has gotten insane, from bringing back past favorites like Gambit, Captain Commando and Cyclops, to back porting Infinite characters(already seen Ultron and Thanos), to even including brand new characters like X-Men's Bishop

  9. Since I've been binging on Star Fox lately, but my answer for unsympathetic is Krystal from Command in a mix of a lack of focus, Other M levels of bad writing and bad localization. Game starts with Fox forcing her off the team for her safety which is a really bad reason(screw Falco, Slippy and Peppy I guess), Obviously she doesn't take it very well, and I know they want you to feel sorry for her, but a lot of choices she makes(depending on the route you take) really makes you second guess because a lot of decisions make her come across as excessive, spiteful, and hilarious petty(joining Star Wolf, dating Panther to spite Fox, etc.,) and she herself is just really mean throughout certain routes, humiliating Fox or snapping at some of the characters who really didn't deserve it.

I've heard the justification for this is that this was done because it was her wanting to prove herself, and like, that's great and all, that actually sounds it would have been awesome. Problem is that isn't what happened, it isn't what we got, instead we just got a pissed off ex and poorly written romances and drama. And it's a shame because it's the one game that tried to do more with her, and there are moments I do like that just got overshadowed. As much as I dislike her on Star Wolf, her interactions with Wolf himself are great, I like her friendship with the Hare's, I like here 1 on 1 with Slippy in the Ending 1 route, and as cheesy and corny as it was, I really like the mission where she gathers all the female pilots and leads a defense of Corneria in a display of girl power. Cliched? Sure, but it's also cute and fun, it's one of the few endings in the game that's happy, you can make a sequel to Command with this ending with zero consequences, and it's probably the only route in the game where Krystal feels like Krystal

  10. I rarely watch Game reviewers anymore, the only ones who's still doing these I still watch are SomeCallMeJohnny and J Reviews

ngl I'm glad the era of youtubers adapting the "angry gamer" style of reviews(the dumb skits, the excessive anger and swearing, trashing games) is mostly dead
