  1. This was actually the first episode of MLP:FiM that I ever saw. It was single-hoovedly responsible for getting me into the series. Or rather, Pinkie Pie did, to be more specific. Pinkie: Enough talk, time is candy! Pinkie: Too old for free candy?! *clucks* Never! Twilight: Pinkie Pie, you're a genius! Pinkie: No I'm not, I'm a chicken! *clucks*
  2. Life story incoming. The first episode of MLP:FiM I ever saw was Luna Eclipsed over at my friend's house, who is fortunate enough to be able to afford a cable plan that gets the Hub. And my initial reaction to the show was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, the art and animation style were gorgeous and the show was legitimately funny and well-written. But on the other hand, it was a show about brightly-colored cutsie little ponies. But I've never been one to knock something without giving it a fair shake, so like most people who don't have access to the Hub, I went to Youtube to watch a couple of episodes. I was expecting a lot of cutsie girly stuff, and to be fair that's pretty much exactly what I got. But what I wasn't expecting was what else I got - a legitimately high-quality show, or at least better than any of that garbage they give on Cartoon Network, anyway. The writing, character development, the nods and references to movies and shows that I grew up with, and in some cases that my parents had grown up with and told me about, the pony versions of real people, it all just came together to create a show that, despite it's target demographic, I didn't feel bad about, or out of place, watching it. I also wasn't expecting to watch more than an episode or two, but I ended up watching about ten episodes in one sitting. It wasn't long after I discovered MLP:FiM that I discovered the fanbase, which after having had the great pleasure of being able to meet members of I am proud to be a part of, and it wasn't long after that that I discovered this place. My friends are great, but none of them are into MLP, so I haven't really had anyone to talk about the show with, so I think I'm going to like it here. So that's my entire lire story, I hope you enjoyed it. I look forward to ringing in a new year and discussing the show with like-minded individuals, though I don't know how active I'm going to be. Thanks for your time, everypony!
