All the endless bickering, judgment, and all-around rotten atmosphere has killed it for me.
And not only that, but I recently noticed that ponies are pretty much all I have left in my life right now, and I don't want to become one of those guys whose entire existence revolves around and hinges on something so ridiculously pathetic and vapid.
I don't know how to delete my account here, and I'm not even going to bother with it.
I won't be updating my deviantART profile anymore, either. If you happen to watch me (which I very highly doubt you do) feel free to unwatch.

I decided recently to abandon my dreams about becoming a professional illustrator, and am instead going to pack my shit, cross the Atlantic and move to Canada next year to pursue a career in music.
It's another skill and ambition of mine.
I've been playing in various bands for almost seven years now, so at least I know what I'm doing.

I know people don't want to see posts about "leaving the fandom", but I decided to blog about it anyway.
    So that's it for me.
It was nice while it lasted, but I just can't deal with this crap anymore.

    Fuck ponies.
Lowline and Champion, you rock, and for everyone else, good luck.
    Over and out.

P.S. Dubstep is still fucking horrible.

    This post contains SPOILERS.
Consider yourself warned if you haven't seen the film yet.

So, I FINALLY managed to pull my shit together and watch Equestria Girls, and...
    Meh.
It was just kind of "meh". Leaning towards the negative side of "meh", in fact.
Sure, it was better than I expected, but then again, I watched it with the lowest possible expectations, so they weren't that hard to exceed in the first place, I guess.
My general impression of the film was that as with the season three finale, there was WAY too much crammed into a way too restricted timeframe.
All throughout the film I found myself scratching my head, and literally slapping myself, while shouting out loud "What?!", "How?!", and "Why?!"

There were too many - *ahem* -plot holes (goddamn you, fandom) and the pacing felt really off.
    Right off the bat I had a HUGE issue with the premise;
How come Celestia had never bothered to inform Twilight about Sunset Shimmer earlier, when she clearly knew she was a possible threat?

Why did they send Twilight off alone, without any assistance or backup? Sure, they gave a bullshit reason of "If they all were to go, it would disrupt the balance of both dimensions", but I don't buy that.

Why was Twilight Sparkle the only pony in the film, who did not have a corresponding alternate universe counterpart?

Am I REALLY supposed to believe no one had managed to discover the portal that was hidden into A FUCKING HORSE STATUE RIGHT IN THE DEAD-CENTER OF A SCHOOL YARD?!

How come none of Twilight's alternate universe friends questioned her incredibly insane-sounding story of her being a pony princess from another world?

And those were only the big problems.
Now, I don't feel like going into the nit-pick mode, so, rather than doing that, I'll talk about what I liked in the film:

    Comedy.
Yes, sir, indeed. If there is one thing these writers do correctly, it's the comedy.
I especially loved the library scene, with the CMC reading the comments on their music video on "YouTube", or whatever. "Epic Fail".

The character designs actually ended up looking pretty decent.
Sure, they felt a bit off at first, but after only about 20 minutes in, I had already grown accustomed to seeing them. Fluttershy looked especially cute (but doesn't she always?)
I would have liked it better, if the designs of the human mane 6 had been a bit more unique and personalized, instead of everyone wearing a dress, knee-high boots, and such.
    Minor complaint, though.

I LOVED what they did with Spike in this film.
I really felt that he was the one character that kept this entire thing afloat right to the end.
Twilight and Spike have from the very start had this sibling-type of relationship, but this was the first time I was actually invested in what's going on between them.
There were moments where I felt genuinely worried about them being stuck in this situation.
I definitely have tons of new-found respect for Spike, and now count him as one of my favourite characters.
I hope to see more episodes of him in the future.

Now, with all that said, would I recommend Equestria Girls?
    Kinda-ish, I guess.
I mean, it's not like it was the worst flick I've seen this year; Man of Steel takes that shit-covered trophy.
Hell, EQG wasn't even that bad.
As I said earlier, it was just kind of bland for me, aside from a few nice moments.

If you're a hardcore brony, who just HAS to see and collect anything and everything pony-related, or a type of moviegoer, who just enjoys good animation, and entertainment, you'll probably like this movie fine.
For me, it was just too contrived, jumbled, and rushed and the negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives.

    Score: 5.5/10.

    I'm not a gamer myself.
    I don't play video games. I just don't.
Don't ask me why, because I don't have an answer for you. I just don't see the appeal for some reason.
In the past few weeks I've derived a shit ton of entertainment from the countless gamers, openly professing their comically overblown, white, hot, and vitriolic acrimony towards MS over on YouTube, and other social media sites, and discussion forums.
Many of them even go as far, as to predict Xbox one to be the failure that will actually destroy Microsoft.
Alright. Time to get real, people:

    Don't be fucking ridiculous!
One gaming console is most certainly *NOT* going to sink one of the biggest MEGA-MOTHERFUCKING-CORPORATIONS in the entire frigging world.
The most ironic thing about this whole farce is the fact that, despite ALL your prejudice, and hatred, you KNOW you are going to buy that console.
You know it, and you know what? Microsoft knows it as well.
You're going to buy it, eat all that shit up, and I will be there, laughing.

    CONSUMER CULTURE, BABYYYYY!!!!

You know that old saying: Never judge a book by its cover?
Well, *fuck you*, because that's books, NOT movies, and I don't think you could have found a better poster to scare an audience away from a theater, if you covered the entire building in a plastic sheet, and set up a kilometer wide military perimeter, warning people of an ANTHRAX ATTACK.
(Yeah, that trailer didn't help much, either)

I'm honest to god scared to fucking death about what comes after this abomination premieres.
Guys, why couldn't you just make a feature film, starring the ponies we all know and love?
I mean, I know this topic is getting old, and people, who complain about EQG are generally frowned upon, but I'm sorry -I've said it before, and I'm gonna say it again: I BELIEVED in M.A. Larson.

    *sigh*

I'm usually not one to have his opinion swayed by masses, but, I guess, in this case, if enough people say it's worth seeing, or even not that bad, I might check this one out.

    I'm a life-long Star Wars fan.
I was first introduced to that faraway Galaxy back in 1996 (or so my parents tell me) and I've been a "faithful follower" of anything and everything Star Wars -related ever since.
I grew up reading the novels, and comic books, playing games, and, of course, collecting the all-important action figures.

Whether people like it or not, Star Wars would not exist and be what it is today without its original creator, George Lucas.
I'm of the generation, that grew up with the special editions, and the prequels, although, I saw the unaltered films first.
I liked the prequel trilogy. I liked Phantom Menace, and Revenge of the Sith.
In fact, the only film in the entire series that I have any serious problems with, is Attack of the Clones.

With that being said, I will now come to the actual point of this post: The recently announced new Star Wars trilogy. Episodes VII-IX.
What terrifies me as a hyperfan is the fact, that the writing staff made the decision to pursue an "original story" that does not draw from ANY post -Return of the Jedi media.

For well over thirty years, the Star Wars lore as accumulated thousands of new characters, worlds, ships, organization, and what have you into the canon.
The established continuity, composed from the novels, comic books, video games, short stories, and TV-series is one big, interlocking and delicate series of chronological events, that is extremely important to any ACTUAL Star Wars fan.
There actually isn't too much official media released that would not be considered canon.

From Ulic Qel-Droma to Allana Solo, from Centurion-class battlecruiser to Incom StealthX fighter, and beyond.
Throughout the years, ALL of these events, personalities, vehicles, and organizations have become too intertwined with the continuity of the films to simply gloss over, or even ignore completely in the new series of films, and yet still, that's EXACTLY what I'm afraid they will do.
It unnerves me to no-end, that they brought in a big-name Hollywood writer to script episode seven, instead of relying on someone, who is deeply immersed in the universe.

J.J. Abrams, however, I have utmost faith for.
When he was first announced as the director, I was pissed.
I never liked "Lost", "Alias", "Fringe", or any of his TV-shows for that matter.
However, earlier this year, I gave a chance for his films, and decided to do something that is considered "unholy" for a Star Wars fan: I watched the 2009 Star Trek film.
    I loved it.
Then, after looking into the man himself, I found out that he is actually a big Star Wars fan, and has been ever since 1977.
I also recently saw the new sequel to the 2009 Trek reboot.

It seems to me that Abrams understands storytelling in a very visual and compelling way, which is an important trait, expected from a director of a Star Wars film. (From any film for that matter. Film is a visual medium after all, no?)

I can only hope that they keep the focus where it's supposed to be in the time-frame where these films will be set: New Republic-era and Legacy-era, with a new generation of heroes, in the form of the Solo kids, Ben Skywalker, and the New Jedi Order.
