gaming what's the hardest boss fight you have completed?
Mutemutt replied to Night Wing's topic in Media Discussion
Well, if we're talking fighting games... it would definitely be Parace L'Sia in Arcana Heart 3. All the teleporting cross-ups and instant overheads. She even had a move that would just fill her homing gauge and she would constantly drop rocks on your head, spawn tornadoes at your feet, surround you with exploding fireballs etc. Most annoying boss in a fighting game I've ever played. If I think about RPGs, then I'd probably go with Pringer X Poison in Disgaea 4. The thing you need to know about Disgaea as a whole is that the real endgame bosses have tons of stats. By tons I mean millions worth of hp, atk, def, etc. So it's not exactly easy to just walk up and one shot them unless you did so much level grinding that your stats utterly dwarf the boss'. Anyway, what made this boss especially annoying was his sort of special ability: Special Skill Solved. It basically makes it so you have one shot with each special skill to actually deal damage to him. After the first time he is hit with that skill, the skill will no longer deal any damage to him. The special skills are your best source of damage, so if you run out of ones to hurt him with, you'll be stuck with standard attacks while he continues to pound you with his special skills... -
Do you have any family members who are bronies?
Mutemutt replied to Alex Z's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Not that I know of. Apparently, my older brother knows of the show on some level and supposedly likes it, that was years ago though and it's not like he ever mentions it. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a brony in my family, hidden away for years, that's happened with one of my friends before. Okay, I lied; I would be super surprised. Like whaaa~!? -
That I should have taken earlier classes so I could finish my day sooner. Though now that I'm thinking about it again, I think this schedule I have, mostly midday classes, is fine. Oh and this song I'm listening to is so good; no wonder it's got so many plays right now...

Handshake, high five, or fistbump/brohoof for greeting?
Mutemutt replied to QuickWit's topic in General Discussion
Yeah... I usually just say "Hi" or "hey" and the like. There's handshakes for the formal greetings but other than that, a verbal acknowledgement of someone's existence is enough for me. Heck, even just a nod in each other's direction will work for me. -
Nuuuu, Lyra... Not gonna lie, I think that last tournament really, really, sparked a love for Lyra in me. She lived the dream. Did what no one thought was possible: toppled mane character after mane character and became a champion. It was a wild ride for both Lyra supporters and her opponent's supporters. I want to see another season like that... But on to the votes! Okay, Luna vs Cadence. I picked Luna; easy choice for me. She's got that color scheme and style that just fits so right. I'm not really a fan of how tall she and Celestia are compared to the average pony but it's not so bad. 2nd vote goes to Rainbow Dash over Twilight. Probably surprising coming from me, I almost always end up talking about how I dislike RD... But, I do like her look. Yeah, I think a rainbow colored mane is a bit much, but she makes it work some how. I do like Twilight, but I guess I've warmed up to RD lately... Rarity vs Sunset Shimmer. Definitely have to go Rarity here. The prim and properness; dem curls! She just can't be denied. Fluttershy or Octavia? Octavia, of course! I'm surprised so many got this question wrong. She's the classiest of the classy, with a simple look that's just perfect. There's a certain beauty in simplicity.

Why is "Black People Love Chicken" a bad thing?
Mutemutt replied to inactive user's topic in General Discussion
Simply a racial stereotype, and people don't like being stereotyped. As a side note, I'm black and I absolutely hate watermelon and grape drink. Bleck! -

Not really sure you why put that part in, but it's really not the same experience.I suspect the only time it would be enough is if you wanted to play the game but couldn't really afford it in the budget, so you settle on just watching it. Though I'll admit, I've watched plenty of let's plays on youtube, many Nintendo games included. Missing out on quite a lot tho, even when the game is like 98% cutscenes like The Walking Dead. I agree that games is the biggest reason for getting anyone of the consoles, though the hardware gap does present an issue for multiplatform games and ports. Still, some people aren't really a fan of Nintendo games. Nintendo was my main console until the Wii came around, which I did try, then I started playing my ps3 way more. Kind of a funny coincidence, but most of my Wii games happen to be remakes of PS2 games. Honestly, I think the Wii U has enough power to work with, they're just not making very many interesting games. Not interesting to me at least.

Sorry, but this part just isn't making sense to me. How could more 3rd party support hurt Nintendo in any way? 3rd party developers would have to pay Nintendo licencing fees and Nintendo doesn't have to pay them a cent unless Nintendo wants to handle the publishing for some reason. 3rd party support attracts more consumers to buy the console, which attracts more 3rd party developers which brings in even more money from licencing. Oh and to be brutally honest, when the Wii U first arrived it was already engulfed in a blazing ball of flames. Not sure how many 3rd party developers they have now, but they definitely didn't start with very much support. They spent the early years trying to put out the fire. Not really supporting your view. Am I missing something?

I never even played the game it's based on, but man is this song good. 'Cause nothing bad ever happens in this town. Nothing bad ever happens in this town ♫~ -

I'd also like to say that it's use as a signature is more of a traditional use anyway. Nothing important ever uses a hand written signature as it's only defense or any of it's defense at all. It's easy enough to forge just like your standard print. There's much better ways of making someone is who they say they are. You can pretty much sign anything you want on to those receipts at the store and such; how many cashiers have you seen check the back of your card for a signature? True enough, but your average day graffiti is way more interesting to look at/read. Just saying

gaming Favorite Super Smash Bros Character? for wii u or 3ds
Mutemutt replied to Deviousnights's topic in Media Discussion
Pikachu, which I kind of expected would happen. Loved the little guy in melee and brawl and he feels pretty much the same in the latest game. And, I must say, the thunder spiking is absolutely hilarious to see and feels so good when you score the killing blow after they bounce helplessly off the ground. -
I bought Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare pretty soon after it came out. Bought it on a whim, didn't know it would blow up like that. Does that count? I love the Disgaea series, still waiting for it to become cool though... It'll get there, give it time . I was also in love with fighting games before their relatively recent resurgence. Not sure if that really counts, but hey, it's something.

You know, I was talking to my cousin recently; he had just gotten Super Smash Bros. 3ds. So I told him that I was interested in getting that game and that I probably wouldn't get it for the Wii U even though it looks nice on that system and he agreed with that. He responded that he was thinking about getting an Xbox and mentioned some game that I knew was on both systems. I asked why he didn't want to get a Wii U so he could get the Wii U version of Smash and the other game he was thinking about, but he said nope, explaining that the Wii U was "doing the same thing over and over again". I told him that, if anything, the Wii was being the most unique of the 3 systems, and then he just couldn't explain his distaste for the system. It was very funny. I suspect that he thinks the Wii is too kiddy or something like that, which I suppose happens often enough. I mean, kids get to that age where they don't want to be seen as kids, you know? So they'll just get something that's not Nintendo. I don't think Nintendo will ever shake off that "kids only" label. I think they'll pretty fine overall though. The Wii U did start to sell at least okay recently, right? Not that I'm interested in most of the stuff they put out these days... but hey.

Honestly, I'd say it's only two uses is in signatures and in making things more difficult to read. That's pretty much it. Yeah, it makes writing an essay or some such, faster but every professor I've had want's the work typed: it's much easier to read. Pretty much every document you ever have to sign also requires you to write your name in print as well. Yeah, some people just have messy handwriting but cursive certainly won't help there. Yeah, I learned how to write cursive; I had to use nothing but cursive for a year or two in school. It's permanently affected my print, some letters being connected by thin lines from not lifting the pen all the way or my "g"s looking like they're in cursive and all the letters having that sort of cursive flow to it. Even with that, I find writing in cursive to be pretty uncomfortable and kind of a nuisance to read really.

By that definition? No. If you go by it's standard use as an honorific, then yes, but who wouldn't in that case?

I'm late, I'm so, so late! How could this happen while I was away? Hope I didn't miss any really important rounds for Lyra, AJ or Octavia... Anyway, my votes go to Lyra, Octavia (super obvious givens. I mean, being a musician is, like, +50 attractiveness), Trixie and... Celestia I guess... Don't really care for Celestia much but well, whatever. Oh and yay, the thread of all threads returns.

To be honest, I got bored of it somewhere in the middle of the game; still haven't finished it.Can hardly remember any of the characters or music; even the story is pretty foggy right now. Hasn't left a lasting impression just yet, I guess. There's a few things that really stuck to me: it looks and feels really original. I loved the art most of all really. The gameplay is like Grandia, a pretty old school feel and pretty satisfying and challenging too. Probably the only single player RPG that's really given me a lot of game overs... Well, besides Bravely Default that is. The rhyming adds to the storybook feel, but that one character that always misses the rhyme was really annoying. It was funny during the first conversation, but it just got old and jarring. If I were to give the game a score right now, without ever finishing it, I'd give it a 7 or so. Pretty good, but doesn't really draw me in.
