  1. I hate when fans do stupid things to characters just to make them unique, like giving wings to Twi... wait... Or acting like Applejack's a main character. Most of my "offenses" in the fandom come from the people, not what they do. Rape jokes and such in the form of Molestia? Gold, bring it on. But watching an EQD comments section reach 300 comments in a minute because the fans don't want to admit that DJ Pon-3's eyes are magenta instead of red like /they/ depict it? And then spend hours making excuses and videos in defense of their quickly destroyed theories? That grinds my gears. It was just as bad as with Derpy. "She's not official, it's "Ditzy Doo." Until they say it on the show, it's not official!". *Que The Last Round-Up* "Well, sure, they said it on the show, but it's not /truly/ official until they've made a toy of it!" *cue toys* "Still, it's not official because they edited the episode and /I/ like "Ditzy Doo" better!" Or with this new Twilight development. There was a mural months ago depicting her, and no one believed it. Then there was a sticker, and everyone cried "error" and thought nothing of it. Then there was a blurry photo of a toy of it, and no one wanted to admit it could be something. Now there's official comfirmation, and it's like... You could've saved yourself a lot of angst if you'd given the possibility a chance when it was first speculated. tl;dr I dislike the fandom itself more than the ideas. People take themselves much too seriously, especially about a show with pastel ponies. Also, saying that Molestia stuff isn't funny is inaccurate. It isn't funny /to you/. Rape jokes aren't funny /to you/. Not everyone shares your sense of humor, and it's ridiculous to think that you alone decide what is and isn't appropriate to laugh at.
  2. I'm just gonna copypaste what I wrote in another thread about all this... "Hasbro hasn't said anything either way about Derpy's existance in the episodes as of late. Even the quote above was from a voice actor about a /fan/ project. The cast and crew haven't talked about it (probably because something is keeping them from doing so), and nothing else about it is known. A long laundry list claiming to be from someone "in" the crew posting anonymously on Reddit claimed they stripped Derpy completely in Season 3, being forbidden from showing her on screen, along with a laundry list of other things based on things that were already suspected or could've easily been infered, so this is pretty much accepted as fake (even if the things included have proven true.) Thing is, if Hasbro wanted Derpy completely gone, she wouldn't still be in the show's opening, she wouldn't have been in the crowd of a few of the first few S3 episodes (as the Wonderbolts episode/Wild Fire ordeal shows, they can very quickly edit out characters when needed), and they /certainly/ wouldn't still be pandering to the brony market with the SanDiego Comic Con Fashion Style figure, the Funko figures, and all the items obtainable from Hot Topic and WeLoveFine. She's not gone, she still exists in merchandise at least. Show wise, until S4 comes about, she's still in the opening." Also, anyone who enjoys the show should be grateful for all these things. Besides the adult fanbase, Hasbro still needs to target the girl demographic with princesses and castles and such. Hell, Disney exclusively targets girls with their princesses... Making Twilight a princess = more toys. More toys = collectors, parents, girls and casuals buying new figures, meaning more money for Hasbro. More money for Hasbro = more MLP:FiM. Buying Derpy stuff from Hot Topic helps the show, buying Princess Acorna Sparkle: Princess of the Night and leader of team F.A.T. and team D.E.S.U. also helps the show. As for the Reddit document, again, it was all based on things that, at the time, were heavily speculated already. As a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog goings on, every year, the website TSSZ makes SWEEPING rumors about new games, and mark them as "exclusive" from their "close sources"; typically based on pre-existing rumors or just out of no where entirely. If they're wrong, they just blame the source and it's yesterday's wine. If the rumors happen to be true though, even a fraction of them... then it's "HA! WE TOLD YOU, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DOUBTED US! WE WERE RIGHT!".
  3. Jinkies, such a warm response to a silly Halloween photo~ Wow, I don't think I've ever been called the healthier version of /anything/ before aha. Thank you~ I laugh every time I see the photo of myself... It's so goofy.
  4. Alright, I've got a few, I guess. First off, it's the fanfic "Cupcakes" that really got me into My Little Pony. I hate gore and such, but it was around that time when ponies were flooding the web, and I started giving the show a shot (after watching an episode with my sister). I had early enough thought Rainbow Dash to be "best pony", so hearing that Cupcakes was between Pinkie and Dash, let alone that the fanfic itself was causing waves in the fandom... I had to read it. Some parts were so discriptive that I was literally in pain in wings I didn't even have feeling as if they were being tugged at... That fanfic made me emotionally invested in the characters, and I started watching fanatically since. Secondly, I got a Rainbow Dash plushie for Christmas from my friend... And one night I got super depressed and cuddled it. It wasn't awful. Humanized ponies? I sneak MLP references into the songs I write, and my bandmates are none the wiser.

  6. Someone posted a Halloween picture a while back so I thought I'd share mine for laughs. I was Charlie Sheen... So... essentially... I wore all my regular clothes.. and hair... and just squinted a bit for the day (which is typical of me without my glasses...)
  7. I have three main series I can never choose between when it comes to favorites: Sonic the Hedgehog (admitedly, mostly the pre-95' games) Pokémon Metal Gear Solid I can sit down and jump into any game of those series and absolutely get lost in entertainment. One of my favorite games of recent times is Batman: Arkham City, mostly because I love Batman and the game is pretty incredible regardless.
  8. I've drawn a few pieces of fanart, and my band covers/records a Friendship is Magic song or two... I even worked a reference into one of the songs I wrote. But mostly, I enjoy styling and customizing the 3" figures. Even when it's frustrating, taking something that looks horrible and unlike the show and having it somewhat resemble the character on-screen is a good feeling. Lately I've been working with clay as well... So I guess I'm just an artsy brony? Aha.
  9. I hate seeing all the male characters from my favorite things making out with each other all the time online. I mean, seriously... I've seen SonicxShadow shipping, GokuxVegeta shipping... I'VE SEEN PAUL MCCARTNEY MAKING OUT WITH JOHN LENNON FAN ART... I mean... Most of you are probably like "Pfft, everyone hates that". No, they don't. According to my DeviantArt feed, they love it. So much. I like almost every comedy show to be canceled by Fox, especially Titus (if anyone remembers that/him.) I love pop music if it catches enough of my fancy. I own every Lady Gaga vinyl that's been released, and I think Green Day's better now than they were in their early days (baring Dookie!, that's still awesome.) I hate the fact that America's essentially that big, fat kid in gym class... He talks big because if he fell on you, you'd die... Yet if you competed against him, you'd win close to effortlessly. He loves himself even in ways he probably shouldn't be proud of, yet if you mock him or point out his flaws, he'll get babyishly upset while trying to scramble up some pride. Again, most are thinking "Everyone hates hypocrisy", but if anyone I work with or see outside my circle of friends on FB is anything to go by, people love being blindly patriotic. I've never watched Doctor Who, and thus Doctor Whooves is a moot character/cameo to me. I still like Sonic the Hedgehog, regardless of all the sludge he's made me trudge through the past 10 years game-wise. Unlike other folks I know or hear about, I'm in a band, but hardly ever bring it up because I find it pretentious and cocky. I liked the Mysterious Mare Do Well episode of MLP:FiM *keeps inaudibly rambling*
  10. I may or may not have laughed way harder than probably appropriate at that photo.
  11. Why am I doing this? Aha. Also? That facial hair waved bye-bye with my new job. *sigh*
  12. I'm excited for the new game. and shall be my starter for sure. I'm anxious to see if the game introduces any new Ghost types (since I tend to prefer them since Red where my favorite became Haunter.) Also,
  13. That's why you do it yourself But no, I realize that that's not everone's cup of tea... It's not even /my/ cup of tea, really, since I've since begun molding the hair out of clay. But yeah, molded characters larger than three centimetres that resemble the characters would be nice.
  14. I got it for the Playstation 3 when it first came out, and followed it since it's announcement (I'm a huge Sonic fan apart from being an MLP fan.) The PS3 got the shaft on exclusive characters, since everyone but us GOT one... but that's just sour grapes. The game's great once you get the hang of it. Until then, most would be bound to get VERY frustrated with it... As I did. First off, in order to unlock all the characters, you have to play through the game on Hard and a bit on Extreme, which isn't awesome. If they had kept the SEGA Miles from the first game, it wouldn't be bad... But forcing someone to play through incredibly frustrating trials and missons to experience the full game is kind of lame. I realize that it's /meant/ to be a reward, but everything drones on so long, and if you have a favorite character that happens to have a huge unlock threshold... It sucks the fun out tenfold. Also, bounding all my complaints to one paragraph, the water sections still give me problems. (Plus, spending hours on single missions just for one star, and doing that again and again to unlock all the racers, I got burned out quickly and never touched it since.) The pros though... So many pros. First off, the game's absolutely stunning. The character models are beautiful, and stages like the NiGHTS level and Sky Arcadia level (and the neons in the Sonic Colours level) really bring out the whimsy a game like this benefits from (While stages like Outrun and After Burner are realistic and incredibly fun.) The music will make your ears bleed rainbow residue, and and call-backs to stages and music within the levels will make any SEGA fan happy. Some All-Star attacks are fun to use, but all of them only last a few seconds and suck the power from them. The range of characters were perfect for me, and aside from a few select, are unlocked without much angst. Also, Air racing? VERY fun (subjectively). (I found water racing to be irritating though...) The PC really gets the better of the exclusives, since they're brand-related characters and not just Wii-folk or 360-folk. As a Sonic fan, I really enjoy this game and what they did with it, and all they added to make my rose-tinted nostalgia goggles fog with joy. The realist in me /really/ dislikes the flaws though, but they really clash and the pros typically outweigh the cons. I love the game, even if I haven't touched it in months, but that's probably because I played too much, too hard, too persistently. Those are my two cents :I
  15. Thanks for the welcome~ As far as kindness and enjoyinh my stay here: So far, so good! Aha
  16. I'd like to think of myself as above feeling embarassed about it, but even I realize that I only buy ponies at a store when it's completely necessary. I don't really feel embarassed or ashamed, but I feel as if I'm /expected/ to be embarassed or ashamed... I've even gotten called out buying a single Lyra figure while escorting my young brothers and sisters around the store. Being called a faggot while also watching your brethren isn't a fantastic feeling. But I deal with it, and endure.
  17. I collect Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony merchandise, as well as Batman blu rays. I also collect guitars, but that's less about collecting and more about band necessity... aha.
  18. I'm MrShteev, you can call me Shteev... or dude... or loser... or I, like many of you, enjoy My Little Pony, which is I I've joined this site. I've done My Little Pony cover songs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-QZgYZF1ak, https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11283627/BabsSeed.mp3) and do lots of pony figure related things (http://shteev2.deviantart.com/). Other than that, I'm just a regular guy. I work, I sleep and I exist. Hope you all have a great day~
