  1. I already know of this, and I'm using it. But if I were in-charge of making the game then I would have added it in from the get-go. It seems silly not to to in the first place anyway.

I was trying to avoid going a bit ranty and unrelated, but now it is too hard to resist.

The thing is, Fallout 3's ending was simple, and didn't have too much involved in it. The only thing that changed the ending, pretty much, was the decision you made at the end.

However, Fallout: New Vegas has a TON of things that change the ending of the game. Be it huge decisions, like what major faction did you side with at the end, or tiny decisions, like did you divert water or power to a small, desperate community that needed it to survive. The predominate reason that New Vegas doesn't continue past the end is because it would be impossible to account for every decision possible to affect the wasteland. If you are seeking them to just throw you into the wasteland, no. I prefer New Vegas to not have all of its lore broekd just so console players can have Lanius' sword. If you would prefer that, there are mods for it. It is a horrible idea to add such a thing to vanilla New Vegas.

And, either way, Broken Steel was terrible, and I would have preferred Fallout 3 without it.

(Then again, I would have preferred Fallout 3 without any of its DLC's. They were all terrible and wastes of money.)

  2. I would make it so that you could play on after the end of Fallout: New Vegas. It was such a good game, but there was so much to do that you couldn't possibly get it all done before reaching the end. I mean come on, you could play on in Fallout 3 and you even died at the end.

The modding community is way ahead of you. If you are on PC, and too lazy to use console commands to do this yourself, here you go. If you aren't on PC, I guess this is another of the many reasons you should be:

The creator says he plans on making it to where some of your decisions affect the post-ending Mojave, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

  3. "I remember when I was seventeen. I was trying to understand it all, too. It passes. There is only one meaning in life, brother: to make and bring up children. But let them be tormented by the question. And answer it how they can. Well that's the theory."

The stalker is never wrong, no?

  4. Killing Floor, any of the Fallouts, Metro 2033, Half Life 1 or 2, ArmA 2(currently, the entire package for ArmA 2 is on sale for 20 USD until March 12th, you lucky bastard; ArmA 2 Combined Ops was, like, 30-40 USD when I decided to buy it :I).

Just some games I really enjoy off the top of my head. All under 25 USD

  5. I read an article where the CEO of Obsidian actually said the only reason they've not started on Fallout LA is because they're waiting for the next gen consoles to come out so they know what their limitations are.

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/122072-Obsidian-CEO-Dreams-Of-Fallout-Los-Angeles

That is the article I was referring to, actually. Still, though, can never be sure.

Ah but Stalker did get a sequel, well sort of they did release STALKER Clear Sky, it was a prequel but still...

and agreed the book Roadside Picnic is a underrated classic.

There were 2 STALKERs that came after Shadow of Chernobyl: Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. However, even after playing those, one is often still STALKER-hungry. GSC was going to make STALKER 2, but they ended up closing their doors. It's too bad, though, with the latest STALKER that got made, Call of Pripyat, it seemed like they got everything right and wildly improved the game from the previous 2. Except for the story, the story wasn't very incredible, but it wasn't really supposed to be.

You and me both! Although I've not read the book, just can't seem to get hold of a english translation.

If you read the book, the game is going to seem like a load of crap to you. But, anyway, I actually went to a European online book store, and ordered it off of that. It took awhile to get here, hah. And, I just had to dig a little bit, but I finally found the link to the site I ordered it at; here it is:

  6. Milk chocolate. I absolutely hate dark chocolate, and, while it isn't bad, white chocolate just tastes...strange. Favourite chocolate product would have to be Reese's.

Related: By far, the most disgusting chocolate product I have ever tasted was chocolate with Lays potato chips pieces in it and chocolate with Fritos in it. A friend of mine vacationed in Florida one time and, apparently, visited a very, very fancy candy store, and bought that garbage for, like, 40 USD for a packet of one of the aforementioned types. That stuff was gross.

  7. I exercise a bit. Nothing to great, not a bodybuilder, but I try to stay fit.

However, I do play paintball just about every weekend. Just a simple walk-on player at the moment, but maybe I'll be part of a division team someday; who knows? Either way, it's certainly a fun and physically demanding sport to play.

  8. I have yet to meet a Brony outside of the internet. (Come on Southern California, ain't you got any pony fans?)

I live in SoCal, and know quite a few people who are Bronies. Definitely more than I expected to.

On topic, in real life, predominately Rainbow Dash without question. Approximately 90% of every Brony I know in real life has Rainbow Dash as their favourite pony. But, as for online, mostly Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Personally, I love Flutters and Rarity.

  9. Not too often.

The only books I've read in the past while are Roadside Picnic and Metro 2033, and, nowadays, I just re-read Roadside Picnic whenever I am sitting with nothing to do(or nothing I want to do) at school.

  10. Sorry man! D: I forgot that I'm not allowed to have an opinion! Always forget that!

OT: Or - You could do such that actually makes you feel like your progressing at something. For example: I do yoga, and such. Oh, and I actually have a gym class this semester. We're working on self defense right now. As well as gymnastics, which I'm meh at. Once again, sorry for having an opinion.

Pretty much what Discount said in response to this. You have as much of a right to your opinion as he has to disagreeing.

As for the rest of your post, I find that when I play paintball, I get a lot of adrenaline. If it weren't for all of that adrenaline rushing through me, I wouldn't be able to do half of what I do when I play. If I were to, say, run on a treadmill, instead, because paintball is an obvious "waste of time", I wouldn't be able to do half of the running I do in paintball because I don't get an adrenaline rush running on a treadmill. I have definitely become more athletic since starting paintball(not solely because of it, I have also been exercising a lot more). However, I also love the paintball community in general, but that isn't too related to the point.

Now, as for the thread's topic, I don't watch sports all to often, but when I do, it is usually semi-fun(not nearly as much as playing, mind you). There's a couple reasons why I watch paintball. I try to learn different skills by observation so I can have them in mind before I get to the field. For two, I just find it fun to see who comes out on top, either by having the dominant streams of paint, or by someone Leeroy Jenkins'ing and bunkering a bunch of people.

I also occasionally watch the Superbowl. Not every year, but some years. It usually starts out with me thinking watching sports is stupid and that this is going to be dumb, then getting drawn into the suspense of who is going to make a ridiculous play and score a touchdown, or something.

Either way, paintball and the Superbowl are the only times I watch sports. I like playing, but watching isn't so bad.

  11. I actually have quite a few...

New Vegas: There's been rumours about New Vegas 2(or whatever the name of the sequel to New Vegas'd be). I am not 100% sure on the validity of where I've heard from, but it basically said that the only reason there isn't much surfacing about a sequel to NV is because of the new consoles. I've also heard it might be in LA, which is basically in my backyard. So, if that comes to be a truth, I won't be able to hold my excitement.

STALKER: Roadside Picnic was an amazing book, Stalker was a great film, and STALKER was an amazing series. I loved SoC and CS, and I couldn't get over CoP. I can't put into words how much I loved CoP. Other than its broken multiplayer, it was amazing. Too bad STALKER 2 isn't happening.

Red Dead Redemption: I loved a lot of things about RDR. It's world, it's story, it's feel, it's characters, and it's amazing ending(and, of course, the fact that I am a giant badass at Rockstar games; don't know how, just am). Would love to see a sequel to it.

DayZ, Cry of Fear, No More Room in Hell: These aren't standalones, but they were all supposed to get standalones. Ones that I still eagerly await.

Metro 2033: I absolutely loved both the game and the book. Not sure what is going to happen with Last Light, though. What with it supposed to be published by an entirely new company, that company closing its doors, then Deep Silver stepping in, I don't know how it'll turn out. I still can't wait for it, and hopefully it'll release on May 14th!

Black Snow: Again, not a standalone. Mod for HL2E2. And, the sequel won't be a standalone, either. But, I am eager to see what the devs have in store. Hope they found someone to fill that programmer spot they needed.

  12. Sonic '06 is pretty bad, but I love the Game Grumps videos about it. :D

I'd take Fallout: New Vegas and give more Legion stuff to do. Not that I think they're awesome or anything, but as a faction, they're not as fleshed out as the developers wanted, apparently.

Hope you got F: NV for PC. If not, this Nexus research I just did is for nothing(although, I think I might use these mods now that I found them, despite not being a Legion guy).

Note: I did see some other Legion overhaul mods not on the Nexus, but I didn't look into them because I am lazy, busy, and I don't like change. So, I went with Nexus-only.

  13. Cubed or no ice, really. Most of the time, I prefer my beverages without ice altogether, but I can tolerate cubed ice. I don't like the mix of ice water with whatever I am drinking, though(an exception being water, but I prefer to drink bottled than from a glass; water in a glass disturbs me).

  14. I hardly dream, at all. I think i'm broken.

no seriously, I only dream every other week, I feel left out! And when I do dream it is like "AWWWW YEAH! I'm Dreaming!" and then I fly around.

That or I am getting sucked into a tornado, wormhole, cave, or something else sucking me into it, until I realize is a dream and get mad at it.

Once a week? It's rare for me to get a dream once a month.

And, usually, my dreams involve something wholly nonsensical and trippy, or one where I am falling, and falling is a horrible thing to dream.

Anyway, on topic, I don't think I've ever had an MLP dream. It's been a good 2-3 months since I last had a dream at all, IIRC. Although, for people who do dream often, I guess those tips are good.

  15. In my opinion, a Socialist society is one that could only function without humans. Capitalism works best for us shitty humans. I like the idea of Socialism, and, consider myself to be a Socialist, but, again, it just isn't a good system when you put humans into the equation.

As for the military thing, yeah, I think you are in the wrong, but you are entitled to your opinion. If you disagree with the soldiers being in Iraq, don't blame the soldiers, blame the ones that sent them there. The soldiers didn't go there with imperialist and evil intention(most, at least), they went there because they thought it was a righteous cause worth putting their lives on the line for. You have to have respect for soldiers, almost no matter who they are and what they are fighting for.

I don't think that is something that should've ignited heated debates all over your school, death threats, and other hate, though.

EDIT: I don't think I elaborated on the title of this thread as much as I should have. No, having an opinion doesn't make you a douche. Especially not solely because I disagree with your opinion.

  16. For me, paintball. The amount of gear I have in tow, the amount of sprinting and diving, the element of pain(for some people, not me, because I am a badass like that), the need to be strategic and to work with your team, and etc.

Although, the physical fatigue isn't such a big deal until after a day's play. I am hopped up on so much adrenaline, I can't even feel it. But, the following morning, I can definitely feel it.

American football is pretty mentally and physically tough, but, I haven't ever played it that much, and when I did, it was mostly touch/flag football, not tackle. And, when I have played tackle, I had fun, but I didn't get to do much, since I was pretty bad at football(I could easily run touchdowns when I got the ball, but, being near-sighted, I could never catch well, and I didn't have contacts at the time).

But, I've never really done sports other than paintball, so.

  17. Up until now, I had never heard of them. However, they used to play that first song you posted all the time on the radio, and I thought it was pretty good. And, I still do.

Certainly not my favourite band, especially since it is not my preferred genre, but a good band nonetheless.

  18. I liked 1, too, but 2 had a lot of things I really enjoyed, as well.

For me, I used the infantry class the most. Other than that, I pretty much just randomly picked a class and had fun.

But, man, it's been, like, 3 years since I've played either of those. They were great games when I was bored.

  19. um 1 month, but let me explain, I had come down with an aweful case of insomnia. so I would go three days without sleeping, sleep for an hour or two, (it was not even sleep it was more like a cat nap)  and then that would be it, this continued on for 1 month, and boy was it in the longest month of my life.  I was sooo tired i couldn't even think straight.

The average month is about 30 days. 30x24=720. You went 720 hours without sleep? That is unheard of if not physically impossible. You would have died if you really stayed awake for even close to that amount of time.

Currently, the documented world record for the longest time spent without any sleep is held by Randy Gardner at 264 hours(11 days) without any sleep.

As for me, about 90-100 hours. As you may have guessed, I kind of lost track of time as to when I actually fell asleep.

  20. 2 is definitely above for sure. One of my favorite RPG's ever.

But really? I thought New Vegas felt like a regurgitation of 3, with more glitches and a less thrilling atmosphere, setting, and questline. Also, it was fairly linear (Goodsprings to Primm to Novak to Nipton to The Strip) because you'll get fucked by deathclaws or cazadores going anywhere else.

To each his own, I suppose.

    [rage]

Other than being on the same engine, having few improved gameplay mechanics, same UI, etc. etc., New Vegas and 3 were infinitely different games.

First off, the glitches. Yes, yes, it was very, very, very buggy when it was released. And, yes, Obsidian has that reputation for releasing games with incredible amounts of bugs and blaming it on a lack of time due to the publisher. That is true, but a LOT of the bugs have been patched.

Second, I, for one, loved the atmosphere and setting of NV in comparison to 3. NV, along with 1 and 2, had settings that I absolutely loved, since I live in the south-western US. As I have stated many a time before, Fallout 3 had a more post-apocalyptic mood and atmosphere in contrast of 1, 2, and NV which had a more post-post-apocalyptic mood and atmosphere. If you prefer the mood and atmosphere of 3, that is fantastic for you. However, I, along with a lot of others, prefer New Vegas'.

Third, if you don't like NV because it is "linear", then I can't begin to comprehend how you managed to enjoy the majority of FO3. Almost every single quest and unlisted quest was 100% linear, for one. You had little to no option of what to do and how to do it. Sometimes, you got to make a choice, but usually it was a pretty unimportant one. And, for a large portion of the quests that allowed you freedom of how to complete them(and, these make up about 30% of the listed quests in the game) were "Go collect X amount of item". NV, however, had many, many different quests that gave you endless decisions to make and gave you many options of how to go about carrying out the quest.

This is rant doesn't really belong here, which is why it isn't as long as I could've(I have a 4 page rant on why I think NV is superior to FO3 saved in word). But, I felt I needed to post something because it is definitely my favourite game, and you ain't mess with New Vegas.

If you like FO3, cool for you, it's not a bad game, but I certainly didn't like it.[/rage]

  21. When I get home, I usually start up a video game. Past few weeks has been mostly Skyrim.

Either when I get bored of said game, it crashes, or something else, I then open Chrome to EqD, take a few glances at it, go to YouTube, then MLP Forums, and maybe TechPB(I rarely check my e-mails :I). Either that takes a hell of a lot of time and the day is mostly passed by this, or I go back to a game, or I browse other various websites.

  22. My first reaction to hearing the term "Brony" was "WTSF is a Brony?". To which, an online mate of mine explained to me that a certain animated series reboot supposedly intended to market toys to little girls had gathered a large following of older male fans well out of the target demographic for the show.

And, my response to that was "That is pretty strange." However, I didn't judge since I normally try not to be overly judgmental, and since this particular online friend as well as a bunch of other ones seemed fairly serious about it and from what they told me about the number of people who shared their same outlook, I assumed there was a reason for it.

I didn't feel like giving the show a shot for a little bit of a while for pretty much nothing other than sheer laziness and not having particularly cared about the issue. Although, early one night, I was somewhat tired and bored, so, I hopped into bed, grabbed my phone, and looked up the first episode. I ended up pulling an all-nighter to watch almost all of season 1, and finished it later that day.

Now, I am a full-fledged Brony who wears pony merchandise in public, associates with other Bronies on forums and in real life, and my phone's music library is about 80% pony related.
