  1. Pfft, yes. I wouldn't care if I was a girl, it's actually kind of strange to think that anyone would turn down the opportunity on that basis.
  2. I don't think you quite understand what Hipster means. A hipster is someone who dislikes something because it's in the mainstream. I like lots of games that are in the mainstream, such as Team Fortress 2, Battlefield, Portal, Killing Floor ect... I don't simply hate CoD because of it's success. I dislike it because it hardly changes anything and still somehow gets that success. I mean, for crying out loud it's $60 ($100 or more if you include all DLC) every year for what is essentially a couple of new guns, a tiny campaign, some new maps and a new gamemode if you're really lucky. That's a high-end DLC at most. Maybe I just don't understand because I don't have such a disposable income. I'd rather spend my money on games that actually do something different. This is the part where I'd go into how they're also negatively affecting the video games industry but I really can't be bothered at the moment. It's 1 O'clock in the morning and I need sleep. Read Shoboni's post above me, he sums it up pretty well.

  5. These are great, Silverwisp! I really like your pencil colouring in general, and you've done a great job on that Twilight Orko (I don't even watch He-Man, so if I'm wrong I apologize.) And I must say, that is a rather glorious Tech Priest you have there.
  6. So which Space Opera Universe is your favorite? This doesn't necessarily mean your favorite game based in the universe, but simply your favorite universe based solely on the story and the lore of the Universe itself. For example, there have been many horrible Star Wars games (and prequel movies) over the years, but that doesn't mean I don't like the Star Wars Universe. I'll start. My favorite Space Opera universe is the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Why? Firstly, it's jam packed with lore. You have the Imperium of Man, the Orks, the Tau and Chaos factions just to name a few. Also, each of these factions for the most part are completely different and interesting in their own way. The Imperium itself is hugely diverse, from the Hulking Space Marines to the average-guy Imperial Guardsman. And nothing about anything is set in stone, as most of the source material is written as personal reports or propaganda. Secondly, there are no good guys in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and if they were, they died thousands of years ago. The main human faction is incredibly brutal, and thousands of people are executed every day for heresy. But despite this, the people that live there are heroic, and wouldn't hesitate to lay their lives down for what they believe in. Thirdly, it's straight up badass. You know the creators have done well when you're more patriotic towards a nightmarish fictional space empire that hasn't invented any new technology for the past 10,000 years than you are towards your real home country. So what's your favorite Space Opera Universe and why? (Sorry, I might have missed some out.)
  7. I don't care either way. There are things out there a lot worse than Molestia, believe me. Also, this DWM thing really isn't going to work. At all. I don't understand what you think is going to happen? Do you think that if you wave your anti-Molestia protest art in their faces for long enough they're just going to stop doing it? No, they won't. It's completely stupid. Would you give up being a Brony because someone on the internet called you a faggot? No, probably not, and it's the same thing here. It's not like Molestia stuff is that hard to avoid anyway. I hardly see it at all these days.
  8. This my basic stance on this. Anyway, I've never really thought about this kind of thing before, but I think it would be interesting to see one, two or more of the Mane 6 going up against a Space Marine from Warhammer 40,000. Although it would probably be very one sided (No offense to my fellow bronies, but Space Marines are literally the definition of Overpowered.) Failing that, Rainbow Dash vs. the Scout from TF2.

Thanks Batbrony! I'll have to go and check out the forum lounge now. I haven't really been there that much, now I kind of regret it.

Hey, thanks SCS. I'll be sure to take up on that offer some time That's another stupid thing about me though. I rarely PM people unless I have to because I feel like I'm bothering them.
  12. So, after a week on holiday to Cornwall in the South-West of sunny (and rainy) England, I finally arrived back home today, looking forward to catching up with all my friends on my favorite forums on the entire internet. And that isn't just me pandering to Feld0 either. I love these forums and I love u guise. You're all awesome, open minded, wonderful people. Admittedly, I did post ONCE while I was away quickly, but I didn't really stay for more than a couple of minutes. There's no room for anti-social internet surfing on a family fun holiday! *Sarcasm* Anyway, the first thing I did was click on Batbrony's blog. Because Batbrony is awesome, let no one forget it. I read his extensive blog entry, and then proceed to begin to write him a comment to welcome him back to the forums from wherever he went. (Sorry Batbrony, my memory's like a Pasta colander at the moment.) So I sat there, thinking of what to comment. For about 20 minutes straight. It was then I realized how badly I've failed at my mission to engage with the people on these forums. When I first joined MLP forums back in Febuary, my goal was to make new friends in the brony community and come out of my shell, because I'm horribly shy and antisocial. To a certain extent, I've done just that. I've met a lot of people I feel that I'm good friends with, and I would trust with things I wouldn't trust to most, if any other people. Hell, I've talked about topics on these forums I wouldn't dream of talking about with my real world friends. But for some reason, I still can't shake the feeling I'm just the guy in the corner who everyone knows but no one really talks to unless they have to. MLP forum user 1: "Hey look, there's Spess." MLP forum user 2: "Oh, he's nice. Hi Spess." Me: "Hi guys." And then that's it. That's why you'll find no comment of mine on Batbrony's blog, because I have no place to comment on it. I highly doubt Batbrony even knows who I am. How weird would it be for a complete stranger to welcome you back to the forums? Anyway, this could just be my paranoid/lonely/bullshit side writing this right now. So I apologize in advance for any offensive or confusion I may have caused. I just don't know where I am with my life right now. Things seem rather grey.
  13. I think people get so pissed off with Call of Duty because it's so frustrating how popular and successful it is. There are some game devs that put loads of time, effort, innovation and pure genius into their games, but no matter how hard they try, they'll never top the polished turd that is the Call of Duty series. Also, a lot of people (including myself) believe game series like Call of Duty (Not just Call of Duty, but they are the main series that comes to mind) are destroying innovation in the video games industry. I mean, where is the motivation for publishers to invest in an original game when they can make a quick and easy dollar with another cookie cutter sequel? I don't hate CoD though. I actually think it's great. It keeps all the loud mouthed 12 year olds away from all the good games.
  14. I'm going on holdiay for a week, so I'll see you guys again in a week or so!

  15. I love both. I've been playing some Half-Life 1 recently and it really is an amazing game, even to this day. But then I also really like modern games too, probably slightly more actually. (well, a lot of them anyway. I don't care much for certain AAA titles though.) Do recent games that have a retro feel to them count as either retro or modern? For example, 'FTL: Faster than Light' came out in 2012, but has a retro feel to it; from the pixel art style, to the gameplay, to the amazing soundtrack.

  17. Is this, like, a serious question? Okay... I personally prefer the Granny Smith apple, solely based on the fact that I can eat it. Although I guess you could eat Granny Smith the pony...I'd rather not.

  19. *Rubs hands together* Where do I start? -Being Quiet -Being socially awkward. -My face is naturally quite red, probably something to do with my Eczema. -Not liking sport (apart from Tennis. But here in the UK, if you don't like football, you ain't a proper man!) -Not so much being a nerd, because I don't really talk about that kind of stuff except with my close friends (and even then, only the ones who actually care.) - Not having a Girlfriend. Ever. (I've never plucked up the courage to ask, so I guess it's only my own fault.) -Being fat. Kinda. More being lazy. -Not being macho. -Being reasonable? Yes, just because I don't shout and scream obscenities like a complete ape when someone disagrees with me, I get picked on. -Valuing emotional attributes over physical ones. -Refusing to get into fights -Not liking Call of Duty -Not liking FIFA -Not liking consoles -Not liking Gears of War -Not liking horror movies. Not even the good ones. - When I have to stand in front of a large group of people, and be the center of attention (This wasn't in the job description, English lesson) I visibly shake and I stutter. It's horrible.
  20. One of the best maybe, but the best? No way. Companies like Valve, id software and Nintendo deserve that top spot (Valve is best IMO, but that's mainly because I'm a massive Valve fanboy.) I also hate their attitude towards PC gaming. Their games are unoptimized as hell, they release them months after the console release, and in the case of Red Dead Redemption, they don't release to PC at all! Why? I can't tell you how dissapointed I was not to be able to get that game. So basically, Rockstar are good at what they do, but to me they will always be assholes, plain and simple. Not EA level assholes, but still assholes. That's another reason I love Valve, they are amazingly supportive of the gaming community and modding community for such a large company.
