  1. I often do "chain research" (it's what I call it) when I am bored and have access to the internet. I look up something obscure that I know a little about, and from there I follow the trail in research.  Such as in the musical sphere, I may look up a band I know, learn a bit about their history, but then realize they may play some instruments I know nothing about. I then research that instrument, which leads me to researching the history and culture behind that instrument, and maybe from there find a whole new band I never knew existed, that may not even be in the same genre as the first. Or I would focus on the historical aspect of said instrument and learn something new about countries and people, which can lead into a whole different chain research of its own.....

Either that or I clean, watch anime, or read....

  2. I really liked Toy Story....I actually see a great deal of potential with a 4th one, although I cannot see a continuation of main group (Woody, Buzz, everyone else) because their story is done....from the childhood of Andy to adult Andy to a new generation. They could definitely make it work with a new set of toys, because the adventures are limitless when it comes to what a toy could ever deal with. I can't see it being as deep as the 3rd film, but I definitely see it going far with a new set of characters, especially as a love story....

If it's just Woody and Jessie, then "meh." That will turn out as great as the love story sequels to classic Disney movies (like Mulan 2 and the like)....I wouldn't like that.

  3. Never been to a Starbucks...seriously those fancy coffee shops are just overpriced and overhyped. I bet the coffee I brew at home is just as good.

I have a 34oz mug right next to me (empty now, but I've been sipping on it since 7am) ....so yeah, I guess I like coffee...I can't live through the day with caffine in my system in the morning. Whether it be a caffine pill, an energy drink, or coffee....but coffee is the best of the choices I have.

  4. Several moments in Antz (1998), it's marketed as a kids movie, but there's swearing, murder, genocide and other sexual innuendos.

You know Dreamworks was made to make more mature animations....just look at everything they have done....Shrek, Madagascar...even recent ones like Mr. Peabody and Sherman, even How to Train Your Dragon....most of those movies are not "Disney" friendly in terms of the humour and innuendos in them (in other words, was made for older audiences purposefully, not a child's film with adult humour to appease adults, but instead adult humour with child centred, colourful animation to appease kids)...although Disney has guilt of its own...just look at the Hunchback of Notre Dame...that whole movie is NOT for kids, especially considering there's an entire song dedicated to LUST....

  5. Almost all modern art I do not understand (in terms of picasso like stuff)....But with what you are asking, "shock value" art that is common today I have a strong distaste for. Similar to music I do not like, I just avoid exposing myself to such art....

  6. I think it's just unplanned plot problems personally. In other words, they haven't thought of this properly......

In my opinion, Sunset Shimmer's human counterpart I believe is actually older than Sunset Shimmer herself (or even dead).   Age consistency is nonexistent between the two worlds (everyone fits into high school when it's obvious some are elementary/middle school aged, plus how is Cheerilee a teacher when she has been shown to be near the same age as Rarity, which also leads me to ask why obvious adult ponies are high school students as well)......

Having Sunset Shimmer's real human counterpart can actually explain the time gap with the mirror, the fact that Twilight nor any other pony knew about Sunset Shimmer (no comparison of any kind from other ponies, and when you are the princess's protege, you are noticed). In other words, the pony Sunset Shimmer existed in Equestria a LONG time before Twilight was even born.

As with the Sirens and Sunset Shimmer, because they have access to some magic, they must have been able to stay the same age for a long time, but then a whole host of other problems come to light

  7. A welder!!

Because I am in welding school...and technically we can't wear "real" costumes because they would be a safety hazard (unless being on fire counts as a costume....if only for a few seconds)....

Tonight when handing out candy, I will wear my gear..

But tomorrow, I am going to Meta Con with some friends, and I will be going as a REAL steam railroad engineer. I usually get pretty dirty working with steam, but ironically I've never had to purposefully dirty my clothes (charcoal and coal dust).  I also never purposefully made my body dirty (glycerin and charcoal)....I will be carrying around a giant wrench (yes it's real, although its for dairy equipment, not steam stuff...but it's aluminium and thus light to carry around)....

  8. I have a Samsung R375...hate it...I preferred my old phone, an LG 220c. It was simple with no bells and whistles (not even a camera). Was awesome because of its simplicity (I hate smartphones with a passion).  However, Straighttalk no longer offered even refurbished ones (let alone new ones) and because my husband broke his phone (the same kind), I gave him mine and was forced to upgrade. The R375 was a free refurbished one too, which is why I chose it. My husband has really big fingers (his pinkie finger is the size of my pointer finger, it's because he's really tall) he would hate the QWERTY keyboard that it has (I can barely use it myself). But it gets the job done, and that's all there is to it. I did put electrical tape over my camera, I hate them.

If it wasn't for the fact we travel a long ways to work/school/home, we wouldn't have cell phones....or phones at all!

  9. I just noticed today that something new has been implemented that is now a part of our user posts (I not exactly sure what to call it besides user information outside the forums). I am talking about the Youtube/Twitter/DeviantArt/Steam/etc. user information blocks that when clicked on, will take you to their channel/profile on those site.

I am sure there are still some kinks to work out, but as of right now, mine does not work (I only have a Youtube one). Even though I am able to bring up my channel on my own, the link on the forum says my channel does not exist. I checked my user profile to see if maybe the information was wrong, but it is correct. I am not sure how far along this new addition is, but maybe there should be some posting about it, informing it is in progress or maybe is already fully implemented (and I'm just having a bug with it).

  10. Heh cool. Strong ladies are sweet in my opinion. does thou have muscles? lol. (i've considered trying the gym but can't find the time or motivation. typical excuse I know.)

Well i  got bit of wedding weight on my thighs and stomach now, but I'm a blacksmith and welder, holding heavy things and hammering metal everyday. Plus I have a biker all my life (bicycler) and have legs that could rival Applejack's in strength (seriously, my legs do everything if something is heavy).

  11. By the way the general media is dealing with it, They are not focusing on what they should be focusing on. The thing is, unlike all the other "pop culture" diseases/infections/sickness's from the past 10 years HAVE NOT had the mortality rate that Ebola has, nor the extremity in the suffering while getting through it if you are infected.

They are focusing on Dr.'s that although are doing something very much needed, should not be complaining about quarantine if it is going to protect the general populace (they talk about this as if their human rights are being violated, but the safety of many outweigh the COMFORT of one). People are complaining about quarantine because it takes them away from their jobs, family and friends....but personally I'd stay away from them, because I love my husband enough to NOT want an IOTA of a chance of him getting infected.

In the USA, it will only take one tiny flub up for it to spread. Why else has 2 nurses gotten it? In a state of the art medical facility, two nurses got it.  Although there is an incubation period for Ebola, all that one person has to do is get sick with it, deny he's sick until he can't take it anymore, and then go to the ER. By the time you vomiting and such, the risk of exposure is quite high for those who care for you. There are many people here who are too stubborn to go to a doctor as well as the fact that most people will wave the beginning symptoms off as the flu. Luckily it seems like other than that guy in Texas, only health workers have been affected, and the disease itself is coming from another country which few people travel to....

Yes, the West is a country with different religious, medical, and hygienic practises than the part of Africa Ebola is coming from, and yes, overall because of these practises it will be difficult to get the disease, but really all it takes is one mistake and a multitude of people could be infected, which will create a domino effect (you infect a friend of a friend kind of thing). This will easily be stopped here, but the fact remains that everyone will run in fear for their lives at that rate. People are already freaking out in ways completely uncalled for, acting like everyone around them has Ebola. Over reaction is a Bad reaction. Overall people are not being SMART about Ebola as far as the general populace goes. The news sure isn't helping, and depending on you are listening/talking to, information is misleading and may even be false!  Knowledge is power and the lack of general knowledge about this disease is creating more chaos than it's worth, and that chaos will lead to mistakes on the part of the people trying to help stop Ebola.

By the way, the CFR (case fatality rate- the proportion of deaths within an infected population) of Ebola is on par with the Bubonic Plague.

  12. Did you design your own tattoos? Because if you did those, you should do all the mane 6. That style is really neat! The tattoo's I have are plain black so far and it would nice to get a stylized solid color version of an MLP tattoo someday. The problem for me is "which one do I get?"

  13. now this is a hard question....

my other internet name is from Spirited Away (and Naruto)- Chihirolee....I've had that username (with various numbers afterwards) for over 7 years now.

Ponyo is best animation I've ever seen

Howl's Moving Castle has the cutest story of all the movies

Grave of Fireflies is so sad I can't watch it all the way through but I would say it's the most mature animated movie EVER

Nausicaa is my husband's all time favorite Ghibli movie (but the Ohms creep me out)

The Wind Rises is the best love story of all the realistic Ghibli movies

Princess Mononoke is a movie I would watch over and over because of the history behind it (the folklore, the FOLKLORE!) , and the themes involved

now that I think about it....I would say Pom Poko....It's not a well known Ghibli film, (none of my anime friends knew about it)  but the themes, folklore, maturity, and overall story just puts everything good about the other films in one unique story that is entertaining from beginning to end.

Yes, Pom Poko is my favorite Ghibli film.

  14. I am not sure if I'm addicted per se.....It's the only thing I've become a fan of since Pokemon came out in 1998 (and I'm currently only a fan of the games, not the anime or cared game {if I kept up with those, it'd really get out of hand which is why I'm avoiding the MLP TCG})

I could call it a drug though...whenever I feel lonely or depressed or just overall bored, I turn to FIM episodes....although I haven't in some time now, I have a list of anime I am wanting to watch and my life is too busy for entertainment in general....

  15. I have medium brown hair with a reddish tinge in the light (I think that makes it auburn brown).  The length is mid-back, faerie style cut (not an even straight cut at the bottom, just naturally grown after 3 years of not cutting it)/  It's extremely fine, flat and straight. It's hard to keep ponytails in it (i can only use one kind of ponytail, or rubber bands). Can't style it, because it flatten out within a couple hours if not sooner. It's not very greasy (unless I don't shower for 4 days),  I have layered bangs down to my eyebrows....

  16. Time management. Getting up at 2am, having to drop my husband off at work by 4:30am after an hour long commute, and then just sit here at my college for 1.5 hours because it isn't open. Then I have classes from 7am to 4pm, with a half hour break for lunch. Then by the time we get home about 5pm, there's only an hour to do EVERYTHING and then go to be (if we want to get 8 hours of sleep). We often get to bed by 7pm, but there's too much to do and not enough time to do it. Glad we don't have kids...animals are hard enough to care for when you can't spend time with them. At least I don't have homework anymore, that made life nearly impossible for us.

It's not that I am bad at time management (to which I will admit that if I could lie around all day, I would, but life's funny like that), it's just that because I have to keep our life in perspective (managing our finances, planning ahead for bills, making sure we have food on the table, happy pets,  and darned asian beetles cleaned up now that its fall  {that surprisingly is a big deal where we live), and now planning for Christmas (2 months in advance because of keeping ahead of finances).  It's just one thing after another, and believe me, I'd like nothing more than to sleep for 16 hours and have an insanely long anime marathon....

  17. I act the same on the internet as I do off the internet. However, I am more often able to formulate intelligent responses because I am able to pause and think, whereas more often than not, real life is more sporadic and blunt (I tend to be short, sweet, and to the point). I expect people online to behave more intelligently because they are able to think before they act (type), whereas that is rarely the case IRL....
