POLL: Do you like the MLP lesbian shippings?
Ficta_Scriptor replied to Viridian Daybreak's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion

Even though Applejack is my fave pony and I'm probably more similar to Twilight than anyone else... I'd have to choose Pinkie Pie, simply because you'd be guaranteed to have fun, and she would never run out of ideas for things to do. And as for getting a good night's sleep, I'm not gonna waste my time sleeping if this was my only chance to hang out with one of the mane six!

Yes, I think that since the coronation was the biggest event in the show's history, (and perhaps the biggest event that will ever happen in the show's lifetime) the finale did leave a lot to be desired IMO. Hell, even Darth Maul had more screen time than Twilicorn! I think a personal gripe of mine is that it just feels too early in the show to make this change. If Twilight had helped all her friends achieve their destinies in some way or another, (say, she helped RD with a wonderbolt exam or the CMC get their cutie marks, helped Rarity with budgeting for her new range that makes her famous etc) and then became a Princess by the idea that she had helped out all these ponies, I would have to say, "Well, she definitely deserves it. There's no denying that." I'm just left wondering where Twilight can go from here without episodes delving too much into royal life. I kind of feel like her ascension would have been better suited towards the end of the series with a massive build-up. Assuming the show runs for several more seasons, I'm left wondering where they can go from here, since the title of 'princess' is the highest rank in existence. It kind of makes it seem pointless for Twilight to even bother with anything anymore since she's hit the upper limit. Alas, that's just me. I think a worry that a lot of people have is as follows: - If the show doesn't change, Twilight's new wings and title will feel utterly pointless. - If the show changes too much, the writers risk messing with the formula and losing fans. Hopefully, the writers can strike a good balance and satisfy everyone to some degree.

It's weird that people talk about hating Cadence and Derpygate since I was barely even aware of this stuff at the time. I legitimately didn't know people were up in arms about Cadence. I was just excited for the wedding! As for Derpygate, I didn't care at all. Even if she was in no more episodes I wouldn't bat an eyelid. And weirdly enough, I never had a knee-jerk reaction when I heard of the show. I saw an advert on TV and was like, "That actually looks pretty good! The blue one looks cool!" Hmm... I guess it's difficult for me to consider previous 'knee-jerk' of the show since I've never experienced it myself. Even Discord's reformation i was excited for. I'm not actually stressing over MLP as much as it might seem, (really, I pretty much calmed down over it. I was mainly annoyed because I felt like I was getting called out by people) but I do feel that the Twilicorn thing could have been done much better. At the moment, the writers are taking a risk, and that can either be good or bad. It's just not as comforting as how I felt after season 2 which was pretty much, "That was the best episode ever! I WANT SEASON 3!" At the moment, fanfiction is keeping me afloat, so it's all good.

Maybe it's just the people that I've spoken to online. I hear a lot of complaints about the finale, even from Pro-Twilicorn supporters, but I barely heard a bad word when the season 2 finale came out. Basically, I think that since it's the most important event in the show so far, a lot of people (myself included) were expecting more. I honestly think that if they'd handled it better, I could've been converted to Pro-Twilicorn. And it's true we shouldn't protest against the unknown, but it's a little annoying that we probably wouldn't even have this drama if those other two episodes were in season 3. It's difficult to have faith in the crew when the season 3 finale is my most recent memory of the show. I think my biggest worry is that, hardly any franchise that has a knee-jerk reaction to something comes out the other side unscathed. First impressions can make a big difference, and a lot of people had a bad first impression. The 6/7 month wait isn't helping, either.

How is my logic baffling? If the season 3 finale was as well loved by the majority as the season 2 finale was, this whole Twilicorn drama would barely even exist. There has never been a fandom freakout like this before and the previous season finales garnered far more praise overall from the majority of the fanbase. The writers never needed to quell fears after the other finales. (except maybe to confirm the next season) Also, I don't doubt that anti-twilicorns are a minority. Most people aren't too bothered, just like I said in my post. And since when the f*** did I become the bad guy here? At no point have I said 'twilicorn has ruined the show' or 'season 4 will suck', because I don't believe either of those things! If they pull it off well, season 4 could be awesome! Actually, I just think you're better off not thinking it's gonna be temporary, otherwise you'll be lining yourself up for disappointment if it turns to be permanent. At least if you go on believing that it'll be permanent and then it turns out to be temporary, it'll be a pleasant surprise. Also, I think a lot of the 'temporary' theories have lost their meaning since a lot of people were banking on it being temporary in the finale itself.

Yes, I think that having to rely on twitter etc is a bit much. If the season finale was awesome and quelled our worries then we probably wouldn't even be having this discussion. We'd be too busy getting hyped for season 4 to squabble over these things. I think the season 4 premiere will indeed carry on, (there was a quote saying that it has Twilight dealing with princess-hood) but I don't think saying "It's a 3 parter!" makes anything better, since it's basically saying, "Oh, left you off at an awkward point with that sub-par finale? Don't worry... all will be explained... in seven months! MWAHAHAHAHA!" If those other two episodes were part of season 3, people wouldn't be as worried. 'Trust the writers' lost its meaning for me after trusting them with the finale... Oh, and while I am anti-Twilicorn, I simply don't believe that they'll change her back into a unicorn. There's far too much that points to it being permanent. Oh, and I think I said before, I hate facebook far more than I hate Twilicorn. I've literally not even touched the site in two years and unless I'm dying and need to write to people one final time, I don't think I've ever go on it again. Also, I don't think the protests will have any effect whatsoever. Most of the fandom either aren't too bothered about the change or are just waiting for season 4 to make their judgement. The Mass Effect 3 thing worked because EVERYONE hated it, and it went against things that they consistently said wouldn't happen. We can't really say that about Twilicorn. If there's nothing wrong with it, why do people keep saying it was rushed? If the finale was awesome, everyone would be hyped. As it stands, we have a portion of people who are hyped, a portion of people who are worried and a majority of people who are saying "Well, we'll just have to wait for season 4 to see how it goes." If that's the feeling that's left after a finale, then it just wasn't good enough IMO. The season 2 finale had me cheering and counting down the days until season 3 with bated breath, and it was like that for almost the entire fandom. That's the sign of a good finale, and we didn't get it this time around. So... yeah. Of course I'm disappointed.

I'm not sure either of you actually understood the point I was trying to make. I fully believe that the season 4 premiere will answer all our questions. Let's say every quote from the writers/VAs about season 4 is 100% accurate. My first point still stands. I have had to search online for information about the show just to find some reassurance. Twilight staying in Ponyville? The finale didn't tell us that. Twilight not changing her lifestyle? The finale didn't tell us that either. We shouldn't have to go scouring interviews and twitter posts just so that we're not afraid of the future. Without all the various quotes from staff members, people would still be thinking that Twilight would leave her friends, be immortal, rule Equestria etc. The actual episode itself should have quelled our fears, not f***ing twitter posts. Once again, if the writers have to do this it means that there's a problem with the show itself. If the finale was absolutely awesome people wouldn't be worried. As for the '3 parter' thing, that was posted after people freaked out about the finale and was a case of 'I consider it a 3 parter, so don't worry!' Sorry, but at no point before was it said that it was a 3 parter and there have been no official statements to say that it is. As I said before, if it's a 3 parter, we should have already seen the episodes instead of having a fandom worry for 6/7 months.

Am I the only one that thinks that: If the only way bronies can feel reassured is by reading interviews and twitter posts, it means that there's a problem with the show itself? The season finale should have made us feel good about this change, not random interviews from Tara and Meghan. The idea that twitter posts are being used as 'proof' is insulting IMO. Also, I wish people would stop saying "It's a 3 parter!" It's not a 3 parter. It's a season finale and a season 4 premiere that happen to be linked story-wise. That's not a 3 parter, regardless of what Meghan said on twitter. If it was a 3 parter, and if it answers all of our questions and worries, we should have seen those other 2 episodes in season 3.

Weirdly enough, I have the total opposite opinion! I think that the wings are going to be permanent, but I'd personally like her to go back to being a unicorn. "Everything is going to be just fine," sounded more like a message to the bronies. (But it didn't make me feel reassured since I hated the finale, but hey ho) I agree that there's potential for development, but I still don't think it's the direction they should have taken. I'd have been much happier if the coronation was an end of series event, and before it happened Twilight had managed to help Rainbow become a wonderbolt, help the CMC get their cutie marks etc etc, and have her friends tell her how much they're grateful and how much she deserves to be a princess. At the moment, it kind of leaves it at a weird place for me. Twilight's already achieved her destiny, and the rank of princess is the highest in all of Equestria. From now on, anything she learns about friendship would seem a bit superfluous. Like an RPG character with maxed out stats finding slightly better items, progress is virtually pointless. If every Twilight-focused episode is about 'royal duties' then I'm pretty much going to switch off since I really couldn't care less.

Why do the mane 6 need to be "balanced?"
Ficta_Scriptor replied to Pony Of The Month's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I think it's because the whole '2 earth, 2 unicorn, 2 pegasi' grouping is sort of comforting, as it makes it so that not one race ever seemed favoured over another throughout the show. If the mane six was a group of 4 unicorns, 1 pegasus and 1 earth pony, unicorns would be totally overrepresented and I don't think the group dynamic would have worked quite so well. I guess now there's the whole '3 winged, 3 grounded and a horned pony for each', but it's not quite the same. I think some of it also has to do with there only being 4 alicorns in existence that makes Twilight stand out too much. Personally, I don't see why she needed to be an alicorn since she could've been a princess just as well. (Interestingly, Cadence was supposed to be an unicorn as well according to Faust) Celestia and Luna are the most powerful ponies in existence and are also immortal (or at least, can live for thousands and thousands of years) so the whole 'alicorn' status had a lot of meaning behind it, which it doesn't seem to have anymore. If more alicorns show up in season 4 and beyond then it's only going to reinforce this. -
Yes! Exactly! That's the great thing about fanon. If there's something canon that you don't like, you will always find alternatives! In my 3 current ongoing fics, one is set in a world where Twilight has become a princess and moved to Canterlot, one is set so that she's due to become a princess (but certain events prevent that from happening) and the other is set in a world where she flat out refuses to be a princess. And PonyShep, you've been making too many threads, man! Take a breather! Have some fun!

OK, I think this is probably the best place to let my own views loose and explain some of the things that I've been feeling. Why do I have a problem with the season finale? As far as I'm concerned, even with Twilicorn dislike aside, the season finale was plain awful. It was incredibly rushed, and we barely saw a few minutes of Twilicorn. We got no explanation of what will happen from now on, what being a princess will mean to her or how this will affect the mane six as a whole. Now, the common argument against this is, "Well, it was only the first of a 3 parter! That other stuff will get explained!" My problem with this is, how do we know it's a 3 parter? Oh, that's right. We're now required to actively search for information on the internet to know any of this stuff. The ending raises a lot of worrying questions like, "Where will Twilight live now? Will she not stay with her friends" Of course, I know that she stays in Ponyville, but again, I only know this because I went online and searched for information about it. Now, it shouldn't be this way. If the other 2 parts really do explain what's going to happen and answer all our questions then they should've been part of season 3. It is simply ridiculous to expect people who watch the show to scour interviews and visit EQD just to get an idea of what's going on and feel reassured. The episode itself should do that. Hell, even a six year old could twig that Twilight might leave her friends and get upset about it. And how many of these 'target demographic' kids do we see on major MLP sites? Exactly. The fact that twitter posts are being used as proof that everything's OK is just insulting. Why am I worried about the future? It's true that for the fandom as a whole, the Twilicorn issue caused a massive knee-jerk reaction and significant backlash. Before it was confirmed, most people were laughing off the rumours as 'the writers wouldn't be this STUPID' and these views were met with praise. Then the bomb dropped, people panicked, but eventually a lot of people calmed down over it. "Wait for the episode," they said. And once the episode was out, this has now become "wait for season 4. Have faith in the writers. They say that season 4 will be good." One worrying thing is how ridiculous some of the attempts at being positive about this change have been. Some people are saying that, "Now that I think about it, if I was Twilight's friend I would be proud of her, so we should support her!" Really? What kind of roundabout, delusional BS logic is that? Granted, some people are genuinely excited about this change and are totally hyped, but many are drifting in the realms of "I will accept this because 'Love and Tolerate' and also if they do absolutely everything right, ever, I will still like the show." Not a good sign in my opinion. OK, taking a step away from MLP for a moment... I've seen this before. Like... lots and lots of times. Let's take some examples of knee-jerk reactions... Starfire's new design and personality in Red Hood and The Outlaws. Final Fantasy 13 being linear, having no towns. Dead Space 3 being more action oriented, focusing on co-op. Ninja Gaiden 3 toning the difficulty and allowing easier combos. I could go on, (and I will eventually get round to another example) but that's some of the major ones that I can think of. Now, none of these things are making anything worse from an objective standpoint. Starfire's new personality is a new personality. Whether people like it is a matter of opinion. Ninja Gaiden making things easier... that's fair enough. Some people just don't like the difficulty that the others had. None of these changes are inherently 'bad'. And as such, the knee-jerk reaction becomes one of 'trust the creators' and 'we can't judge it if we haven't seen/played it'. And... Let's be honest. For many people, the things I mentioned above ruined their respective franchise. From knee-jerk, to convincing themselves that the creators know what they're doing, to disappointment. It has happened so many times with so many franchises and so many fandoms. Now, you could quite rightly point out that games and comics are somewhat different to TV shows, which brings me to something else. When I was younger, I was a massive fan of the hit sci-fi sitcom 'Red Dwarf'. Interestingly, the show made some pretty meaningful changes throughout the series. In season 3, the main cast of three (Lister, Rimmer and Cat) was extended to four, with Kryten becoming a mainstay character. In the episode 'Legion', Rimmer acquires a hard-light beacon, allowing him to touch things, eat, drink and do anything a human can do despite being a hologram projection. This is the thing... These changes were begged for by the fans. When Kryten showed up briefly in an episode of season 2 (Named 'Kryten', funnily enough) the fans gave such a positive reception to him that he was given a full-time role as a main cast member. Again, Rimmer's inability to touch irked many fans, and this was remedied because of this. In season 7, Rimmer was effectively 'gone' and only made brief cameo appearances because the actor, Chris Barrie, was busy with another sitcom, The Brittas Empire. In his place, they got Lister's dead ex-girlfriend to come back to life. The fans... didn't want this. And season 7 was generally considered a big disappointment. But have no fear! In season 8, Rimmer is back! Oh, and did I mention that the entire crew of the original Red Dwarf is now back alive and that our four protagonists are now prisoners? Wait... fans! Come back! There was a huge knee-jerk reaction to the news, but pretty soon people were saying "If they do it right, it could work. The writers know what they're doing." And so, people calmed down. And then season 8 came out. And... f***ing s***y b******s. And this is the thing. This has happened in so many fandoms, and yet, people are acting like MLP is unique, as if it's somehow exempt from this because"OMG it's ponies." I genuinely cannot think of a franchise that's had a knee-jerk reaction to something and come out the other side unscathed. I simply can't. It's practically unheard of. And this is what makes me worried, because I've been here before, many, many times, and I can't think of a time that it's ended well. People treat the MLP staff as if they're somehow beyond the mistakes that other writers might make, and that's not unique either. You'll get that in a lot of fandoms. How do I think it should have been handled? What do I want/ not want from season 4? I think that her becoming an alicorn was unnecessary. Assuming that Twilicorn is permanent, (and there's a lot that points to this) then there are certain things that I don't want them to do. - I don't want her title as princess or her acquisition of wings to be referenced constantly. - I don't want ponies bowing to her or treating her better than her friends. - I don't want the other characters to get marginalized. - I don't want to learn about the life of royals. - I don't want Twilight to be overpowered. - I don't want her personality to change. Now, this is the thing. I'm not sure that season 4 can do these things. Twilight has undergone two big changes. For one, she changed race and gained wings. Two, she became a princess. These are two things that open up a lot of potential scenes for her, and... only her. And yet, if we're talking about moving the plot forward, we would have to see Twilight become the most important part of the show. If the writers change nothing, the show has failed because it's basically ignored the biggest event in the series. If they change the show to reflect this, they're at risk of messing with the formula and ruining it for long-time fans. Why don't I trust the writers? Because I think that trusting the most biased people on the planet (as regards to their own show) on the basis that they must know what they're doing because they said so and are different from other writers in other franchises is absolutely ridiculous and foolhardy. In conclusion: I am extremely anxious about season 4, and this is perhaps the first time that I've ever been apprehensive about watching the show. The finale hasn't quelled my fears and neither have the words of the MLP staff. I sincerely hope that in the future, I can look back on this and laugh, all the while spouting "season 4 is awesome! I am totally blown away! I can't believe I used to hate Twilicorn!" It's just that... I can't see it happening. At least if I'm not expecting much, season 4 can't possibly disappoint me. /end rant
-
I don't really think this is necessary at the moment since we don't know how season 4 will turn out. If Twilicorn really DOES result in some bad changes to the show (if she becomes the centre of attention, if her royal duties become too forced into the storyline, if the quality drops, if everyone treats her better than everyone else) then people might want to join you. At the moment, it's impossible to tell. As for me, my hatred of facebook far outweighs ny hatred for Twilicorn so I wouldn't join regardless of how things end up.
-
I've tried. Believe it or not, my discovery of most of those points I made were down to me looking for potential evidence that it would be temporary, but I couldn't find anything. I did find a link that says about the season 4 opener focusing on Twilight's fears and questions about being a princess, (scroll down to the bullet points) but I don't think that should be construed as "she's going to get too nervous and just quit." It's obvious that she'd have worries regardless of what happens in the episode. It's Twilight, for crying out loud. She freaked out over handing a friendship report in late so she's certain to get anxious about becoming a princess. Interesting point somewhere down the page, they CONFIRM THAT KING SOMBRA IS DEAD. Gotta say, I'm actually taken aback by this.
-
I've been thinking about that Spike storyboard strip, and I'm actually inclined to think that it'll play out a lot like the episode where Spike leaves to live with dragons or when he leaves because of Twilight's pet owl. (Don't make me spell it...) Spike has a freak out over something and wants to go, but Twilight convinces him to stay because of reason X. I couldn't see a situation where Spike gets upset about it and the moral is "If you moan about something you don't like then you'll get your way." (Which may seem hypocritical coming from someone like me... but anyway... XD ) I also can't see the rest of the mane six getting annoyed about it either, since Twilight isn't exactly snubbing them. As for the 'toy-line' theory, it's very possible that we'll just see alicorn Twi toys as the normal ones in the future, but without the crown and dress. Just because she's part of the 'Princess Coronation' line doesn't mean that Twilicorn can't be part of the normal line once season 4 hits. One thing that I think should be considered is the first ever interview on the subject that Meghan gave saying that they were "building a mythology about what 'princess' means in Equestria". I think this likely ties in with the Crystal Spell book, whereby Twilight can call her friends equals and doesn't have to sacrifice friendship to be a princess. 'Building a mythology' sounds an awful lot like something that would require permanent continuation. Otherwise, they're just building it up to break it down again. As for the writers scrabbling to change it back so they don't lose fans, despite the initial freak-out, most people don't mind too much now that they know Twilight will stay in Ponyville. I could only see them change it back for this reason if season 4 sucked and people blamed it all on Twilicorn. Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of season 4 stuff was underway before Twilicorn was even hinted at. There's no way they could have a 'quick re-write' after people got up in arms. However, I think by far biggest thing that points to it being permanent is that it was Lauren Faust's vision to have Twilight supplant Celestia, and at the Las Pegasus convention when asked why Twilight became an alicorn the answer was, "she was always going to become an alicorn." The '3-parter' thing is IMO simply because they need time to fully integrate Twilicorn into the group and explain everything, which the season 3 finale didn't do. My prediction is that Twilight is learning about princess-hood and is offered the chance to live in Canterlot, but this causes the mane six to get upset. At some point, a villain shows up, (possibly Star-swirl, which would makes sense since he'd be jealous about not being able to reach alicorn status) the Elements of Harmony defeat him/her and the episode ends with Twi deciding to stay in Ponyville. (At least, that's how I think it's going to turn out. I'm honestly keeping a note of that idea because I think it's very possible) I guess the only other thing that might point to it being temporary is that there's no explicit comment from the writers or Hasbro that says, "We can confirm that the change will be completely permanent." However, I've not seen an interview question that asked about this, they just asked about the changes and what they would mean. I'm not even sure why they'd make such a statement. I still say the evidence points to it being permanent, but I hope I'm wrong. Anyway, have a bro-hoof.

I feel like a total hypocrite
Ficta_Scriptor replied to Pony Of The Month's topic in Season 3 Discussion
You know, I kind of feel like a hypocrite. I've always been one to say 'creators and authors should be able to do what they want with a story and not pander to the crowds.' And yet, I really do hope that they change Twilight back. Yes, it would be a big cop out, but I still would want it to happen. The thing that gets me is, every time I have a knee jerk reaction to a changing franchise I try and convince myself that everything should be fine, but in the end almost every time, the end product comes out and my knee jerk reaction turned out to be right all along. This is just like the changes made to Final Fantasy 12 and its battle system, Ninja Gaiden toning the difficulty and Dead Space 3 getting co-op focus. I try and tell myself that 'if they handle it well it'll be great' and then it all goes to pot. Twilicorn has left too many people saying 'I'm not sure about it but I think they can make it work' and I have seen the same thing happen with various fan bases and the result is often... Well... People start referring back to 'the good old days'. That in itself has me worried.- 9 replies

Head canon? Yummy! Big wall of text? Sorry... but now that I think of it, I have a lot of head-conon theories. - Alicorns are not necessarily immortal, but they can lengthen their lifespan with age spells if they so wish. - Celestia and Luna are actually beyond the 'alicorn' level of Cadence and (NO-ONE ELSE) and are virtually immune to all known diseases. - Magical Mystery Cure never happened. (Subject to change if season 4 convinces me otherwise) - Cutie Marks are actually a cause of being linked spiritually to Celestia and Luna. Griffons/dragons/beasts don't get cutie marks because of this. Zebras have the potential to because Celestia is genetically linked to the inhabitants of Zebrica. Ponies that are banished from Equestria inherently lose that link and as such, cannot acquire cutie marks. This severed link also carries on through the bloodline. (This is how it is in my fanfic 'Legacy: the End of Harmony') - Many of the ponies alive today are descendants of Celestia and Luna. - There is a level of bitter resentment amongst some earth ponies towards unicorns and pegasi. - Celestia and Luna are both over 10,000 years old. - There have been numerous element bearers over the course of Celestia's lifetime. - Scootaloo's wings do not work properly because of a disability, and it is likely that she will never be able to fly. - Rarity is the only member of the mane six who isn't a virgin. - All members of the mane six are straight. - Fluttershy's parents are still alive, same as Rainbow Dash's. They just live far away. - Scootaloo's parents are both dead and she mostly lives either at the orphanage or stays over with Applebloom. - When we aren't looking, the ponies cuddle each other in really adorable ways that our hearts couldn't possibly handle. - Discord secretly loves Fluttershy, but she doesn't feel the same way.

How Did Your Favorite Pony Become Your Favorite Pony?
Ficta_Scriptor replied to Shanks's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm not entirely sure how Applejack became my favourite pony, but I guess I could say that if I were a pony in Equestria, out of all the mane six, I'd want to be friends with Applejack the most. She's honest, thoughtful, confident, hard-working and cares an awful lot about family. When I found out that her parents being dead were canon I liked her even more because it made me think of how bold she was and how much she just wanted to make them proud. Sorry, I think I've got something in my eye...- 136 replies

Exchangelings! Come on, how did you not think of that one? As for my own episode idea, how about one where Applejack starts acting strangely, going off at strange hours and coming back all sweaty. Applebloom notices this and with the help of Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, try to track her down. It turns out that she's actually getting Rarity to teach her ballroom dancing, because it was secretly something she always wanted to do, but she was too scared of letting her family know that. In the end, the moral is to accept what other people want to do with their lives and not judge them for something that might seem silly. As a side note, whenever Twilight is in a scene, her wings are always out of shot or blocked by furniture.

Irrational Criticism

It's weird hearing about people 'hating' on episodes because throughout the entire time I've been a brony I was never even aware that there was hatred towards these things or even that some people were up in arms over the Canterlot Wedding and Keep Calm and Flutter On! (I still consider CW to be one of my favourite episodes ever, if not my all-time fave) At no point in the series (except for the obvious one) have I felt this way. It's only been since the Twilicorn thing that I've heard people say that any of this was going on. I genuinely had no idea whatsoever. Then again, I'm anti-Twilicorn, so... we'll see what happens. -

People hated the Mare Do Well episode? I thought it was awesome! Applejack and Pinkie got to be superheroes for a day! How could people not like that!? *Faints* I totally wanna re-watch that episode now... Gotta say, though, if people think the show sucks then they think it sucks. It's their opinion, so let them be entitled to it. Some people think that season 3 sucks. Who are we to say that they're wrong? *shrugs* -
Do You Support Twilicorn?

I'll be waiting until season 4 before making up my mind, of course, but at the moment I'm leaning heavily towards 'no.' If they change nothing about the show, the whole coronation will feel pointless. If they change too much, (It will seriously bug me if we're reminded every episode that Twilight is a princess or if ponies bow to her and stuff like that) then the writers are going to have to pull out all the stops to make things work. Hopefully, the writers can convince me to love Twilicorn and put out some amazing episodes. I'm just not counting on it, is all. And please don't tell me to have faith in the writers... I've had too many beloved franchises dwindle into mediocrity over the years to teach me not to have faith in anyone.- 1,021 replies
