  1. I always think it's a good practice to try and get both parties to agree to allow each other to tell their side of the story. Make it clear that if one interrupts they'll likely be interrupted during their turn. Let them tell their respective sides. Then ask each one INDIVIDUALLY (don't ask both at the same time) about why they were motivated to do or say the thing that aggravated the other. Usually once people explain their actual motivations, the other side doesn't see it as such a random act of unnecessary unkindness. They still may not agree with it, but you've injected logic into the situation. Try and keep that sense of cool logic in there. But, if the situation escalates beyond the point of control, don't be afraid to very calmly step back and let it takes its course. You don't want to be the next target they turn to when they become so aggravated they're just angry with everything and everyone around them. That doesn't mean abandon ship as soon as it hits a rough patch. It means you honestly don't think your contribution will ease the situation despite your best efforts!
  2. Just a couple weeks ago, back in the good old days of March, Netflix advised me they predicted I'd give the show 5 stars. Well, it was something I just couldn't turn down. And here I am!
  3. I second Flutterbass's suggestion of Bridle Gossip! That episode is really great for 1st timers since it's pretty heavy on mainstream random humor. It has a Spongebob-ish type feel running underneath it that I think a lot of people will appreciate.
  4. Good for you, Vincent! It's so nerve-wracking to put up your own work for everyone to see, but don't worry, everyone here seems great! When you feel ready, go for it! Welcome to the herd!
  5. Welcome, Summer! Hope you have an awesome time here! I just flew in too and I love it!
  6. Hey Snow! Pleasure to meet you! It's awesome to here someone else trying to bust into animation! I'm heading in the same direction from a different road-- I'm a tv editor currently working into reality slowly peddling my contacts into some animation editing. Dead serious, if you need any help finding resources on how to do a series (or the programs to allow you to do them-- I've got all the major torrents and keys) I'd be totally happy to help! And if you ever need an editor, I'd be over the moon and partying with Luna for the chance to help a brony out! Feel free to PM if you've got any questions, no problem! And welcome!
  7. Hey Everypony! I'm a baby brony just starting to earn my mark! For a while I've just been enjoying the show, knowing there's a whole community out there, but I was so engrossed with work that I never felt like I would have the time to join in like I would like to. I'm a film and tv editor by trade, so we run around the clock when the season is going! Finally, I have some down time and here I am! WOOHOOOOO I've mostly just loved watching the show up to this point! Now that I have some free time and some free space on my Avid editing drive, I'd love to join in and lend my expertise to any pony projects any of y'all have going on. But most of all it's just great to be a part of such a great group of people! I'm still pretty new and have a lot of catching up to do, any tips or advice for taking full advantage of the community? Resources, groups, things to know about and all that jazz? Thanks so much, guys, can't wait to meet you all! ~SH
